Sandalwood fans?

I like the idea of offering sandalwood fans at our ceremony, however, I don't recall using this type of fan... What do you ladies think? I know they have that sandalwood scent to them, which is no problem with me, but are they flimsy, do they give a good "gust" of air? Give me your opinion!

I was a guest at a wedding where they had the small sandalwood fans with the little carvings in the side  - They're much smaller than I thought they'd be and they didn't really give enough air for me. (We were in direct sunlight in July).

As someone who gets headaches from strong scents (including lotion or hand soap), something like this would make me miserable as a guest and probably cause me to leave very early.
