officiant

Heya Knotties,

I was wondering who you all recommend as an officiant? We're getting married June 23rd at Kinney Bungalow in Narragansett and need to book someone soon. We 're looking for someone who is friendly and open and has a sense of humor and someone who can make both of us feel comfortable siince we're both sort of shy types.  :) The wedding will be non-denominational and outdoors.

Thank you!

We used Victoria Burdick for our wedding last September and she was amazing.  I can not say enough good things about her.  She is very friendly and just an all around awesome person!  We went out to dinner with her for a 3 hour meeting about a month before the wedding and went over our whole love story (how we met, how we got engaged, the dynamics of our relationship, etc) and she turned that meeting into the most personal and intimate ceremony we could have ever asked for.  All of our guests couldn't say enough how much they enjoyed our ceremony.  They all said it was one of the best ceremonies they had ever been too.

She is very accessible through email and phone, and helped us write our own vows.  She also gave us a folder with the whole ceremony written out as a keepsake.

It was all in all a great experience working with her and we gave her an A+ in the reviews we posted on this board in October.

I've heard Victoria Burdick is very, very good although her rates were a little out of our budget.

We hired Reverend Mary Powers. She is fun, easy going, but very organized and offers unlimited email access to her in the months prior to the wedding. She's been fantastic to work with so far.

A friend of mine recently used a man by the name of Steve Versacci.  He was great!  He had a sense of humor, helped them write their own vows and was very light heartening!  He does it on the side so she said that he was perfect, not expensive and fun loving!  If you want his number just send me a message!

Thanks!  Victoria sounds great, but her pricing is out of our budget.  I contacted Rev. Mary and she informed me that she's moving to Maryland in a few weeks. :(

    Any others out there?

We used antoinette cavanna, who was recommended by Victoria Burdick when she wasn't available.  She was wonderful.  Couldn't have been happier.  She is so warm and kind.  She is also willing to negotiate on prices.  I simply asked her if she could lower her price a bit and she said yes.

Hi - Defintely check out Frank Camera, he's a JP located in Bristol RI. I am going with him for our wedding in Sept. He has a great sense of humor and makes you feel totally relaxed.  I used to plan weddings at the Hyatt in Newport and we reccommended him all the time, he's wonderful.  http://www.frankcamera.com/Site/Home.html

    Good luck!

Hands down- REV. MICHAEL EGAN! he has that sense of humor that your looking for. We met with about 5 officiants and we knew he was the one when we met him. He is from Conventry, but travels. He is going to Newport for ours.

    good luck.

I used Rev Skip Sweeny.  He was great.  Not sure what your budget is but he did a wonderful job.  He's got the whole process down to a science and completely took away any ceremony stress I had.  http://nondenomwedding.com/aboutus.aspx
