I'm interested in any reviews or feedback regarding the North Beach Clubhouse, as well. I'm especially interested in knowing if there is generally enough space inside for dancing, or if a tent would need to be purchased and placed outside on the deck for this purpose. I'm trying to get a general sense of how much I would need to spend, overall, if I went with that venue (and I believe that a tent would cost about $500 extra). I'm hoping to be able to take a look at the space next month.

I've lived in Narra. almost my whole life. I've been to many events and tried to plan my wedding there, we didn't because of size. But this is what I found out:

It only fits 100, even with a tent outside. They will acutally send a town employee to do a head count of your event (catering counts as part of the 100), fines if # is over 100. The tent is extra. I think the largest tent is $1,000 but there are smaller ones for less money. You are going to need a tent, if it rains (hope it doesn't) it will be a tight fit for dinner and dancing. You might want nicer chairs, they have white plastic/metal folding chairs.

In past instances at paties (graduation, Halloween, dancing etc.) I've been to, the dance floor has been outside under a tent with DJ outside and dinning inside. The kitchen is SMALL (smaller than my home kitchen) and has one stove/over most caterers will need to bring a truck to do the cooking/preparing.

A downfall, you have to clean up everything on your own AND be out by a certain time. PARKING sucks in the  SUMMER - you can't park until after 5pm. Otherwise people must pay to park in the lots (May-Labor Day).

It is a BEAUTIFUL view! A handful of steps out the back and you are on the sand. Three sides of the building have windows looking out over the beach and towers. It is affordable and I would have loved to have it there. The size was the only problem.

Any other questions feel free to ask, I grew up on that beach! :) If I don't have an answer my family friend is a town employee and I can ask!

Rachy24, thanks for your detailed review! Out of curiosity... do you think that we should expect the beach area in front of the clubhouse to be somewhat crowded if we were to hold our wedding there in August? I know that it's a public beach and that we'd only be renting the building, itself.

It is a town beach and it is located usually where the families sit. There is a pavillion and beach cabana's right near it.  I'd say the beach starts to cear between 3-5p.m. and by 5 there are only a few here and there. If it is a night event, it would work out with parking and not having beach goers there.

I had taken this picture when we were looking. These are the back steps onto the beach, it was taken on a Sunday afternoon. So people sit near it, but not right infront of it. But as you can see sand is right there, and people will be walking by and can technically come up pretty close.

Thanks, rachy24 for your detailed response..it was greatly appreciated!! Where did you end up having your wedding???

I went to see the clubhouse this past week and it's so beautiful!! The beach is gorgeous and they just renovated the outside and inside with new coats of paint and brand new windows all around.

I was cautious about this venue because you are responsible for the set up and clean up but I was informed that most caterors will do this for you so I'm most likely going to find a cateror that will accomodate that.

It's such a great spot but I agree with you that the only downside is the size limit.

chf08, the rentals for the tent and chairs (if you don't like the metal chairs they have) are through a company called liberty rentals. They have white or wooden garden chairs and they also provide decorations such as lights and laterns.

You can chose to have a tent up to days before your event which is nice in case of inclement weather. The tents can be provided with sides and/or a heater for an additional cost if it's cold. I would recommend the tent either way so people can outside but still have some shade.

I ended up having at at the Village Inn down the street catered by Amalfi. I tried the towers but they were booked for our day. Congratulations on your weddings and good luck with the planning! :)

I am also having my wedding there in September of this year. We are working with blackstone caterers and have been so happy with them and they have worked here before which is also a plus. Just in case you wanted some information on a caterer and you can't beat the view.

I'm getting married there in October and was told that it holds 117 people to accomadate caterers, etc. I haven't seen it since they renovated and am looking forward to taking a trip down to see!!

My husband and I were married at the NorthBeach Club House recently. While we loved the atmosphere, we unfortunately believe security there is lacking. We had several gifts stolen one of which was a check that was cashed by a third party. The police are currently investigating, however we were met with gracious cooperation and understanding from every one of our vendors except the Event coordinator for the town who runs the beach house. Once you arrive for your wedding dont expect any courtesy from her. The employee working that evening had friends visit during our private event! It is a beautiful venue which is being run poorly. When we booked there was a different coordinator working at the time who was very helpful unfortunately she's not there anymore. I do not recommend this venue.
  • StephC; and all that recently got married at North Beach, We are considering looking at this venue for our wedding next August. Could you tell me if it can now accommodate a little over 100 guests now? I had recently heard this also, if the woman who is listed as the coordinator Lisa I think is still in that position? Thanks!
  • Its probably too late for this Firelove12 but I was married there in September and no, they will not accommodate over 100 guests.  They actually used to allow 100 guests plus catering, dj, etc...so a total of 117 people.  Now they are including those numbers in the count so it is 100 people total, not 100 guests.

  • That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for replying. Word of advice to all. Don't book your venue before you put your guest list together. We are booked for the clubhouse this August and are at 110!
