Inexpensive florists

I am looking for something right at 1,000, preferably under.  I went to one place today in Cranston and they told me they have a minimum of FIVE THOUSAND dollars!!  Yikes!  That is insane to me to spend that much on flowers.  I really don't need much, I only have one woman in my bridal party and I want something fairly simple for centerpieces.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!  Thanks!

I am going to The Water's Edge Florist in Newport. I have a bridal bouquet, 1 toss bouquet, 4 BM's bouquets, 5 boutonnieres, 2 corsages and 2 small arrangements for the altar and it'll under a grand (don't have a finally totally but they quoted me between $800-900)

Not sure if you spoke to Florals by Alisa but I have heard a lot of good things.  Also you can look into Whole Foods, they have great quality flowers.

I second checking with WHole Foods, I know Moni did her flowers through them and they came out awesome. I am sure Florals by Alisa is also available because your wedding is on a Thursday.

I used Carlone's Florist in Portsmouth. She's great to work with! Ours cost $1100 and we got: bridal bouquet, 4 BM bouquets, 6 bouts, 3 corsages, 14 simple centerpieces, and 8 floating flowers on our stand up coctail hour tables. Oh, and also real rose petals strewn on several tables. This also included deliveries to 3 locations! Amazing price, great quality work!
We cut down on some of the costs by providing our own 5 vases for the bouquets as decoration, the wine glasses to hold the floating flowers on cocktail tables. Plus our centerpiece vases were empty wine bottles. So find a place that will let you supply your own vases, keep an eye out at Christmas Tree Shop or Michael's, and you'll save yourself a boatload!

Using Waters Edge as well...2 huge urns for altar, 5 bouquets, 4 corsages, 7 bouts...no centerpieces  under $750

My family uses them for everything and they are great to work with and the flowers are gorgeous.

I am using Twin Florist in Cranston. Marena is wonderful, my family has been using her for years and she has always done beautiful arrangements. A $5000 min seems a bit outrageous, we are somewhere between $1500 and $2000, not sure exactly what we are doing for the ceremony yet but the total will be in that range. She was great about giving us different flowers in different price points that would give similar looks.

EDIT: to give an idea of what our total includes, we have 7 bouquets total including mine, 4 BMs, Jr. BM, and a throw, 7 boutiners, 3 corsages, 12 centerpieces, about 5-10 small centerpieces for outdoor deck tables, something to put on ceremony chairs. Generally whenever she said "if you want somethin less expensive you could...." we went with the more expensive

I'm using the Flower Girls in Warwick, RI. I have 5 girls and 5 guys in my Party and she is about $50 over a thousand for a LOT of flowers. Tiffany talked everything out with me and worked things out with me. She has been really helpful and sweet.

I used Seekonk Floral Design, the owner Debbie was super helpful, let me buy my own vases and didn't charge to go to my house, the church and Newport for the reception.  I had 5 bouquets, 4 female corsages, 9 bouts, 18 centerpieces, 8 cocktail centerpieces and a gift card display of orchids for $2500, all inclusive with taxes.  It was more than I wanted to spend (I wanted to stay around $500), but honestly it was cheaper than anyone else and I LOVED my flowers!
