Bridal Party Gifts?

What are appropriate Maid of Honor and Best Man gifts? We are only having the two, and I am wondering what others are doing for their bridal party gifts. I want to get them each something nice and meaningful, something they will use, but I am not sure what. Suggestions?

I agree that meaningful matters. I'm having trouble deciding, in part because I have 5 bridesmaids and don't know whether to get the same or different things. I'm leaning towards a bit of both - personalized bookplates, a copy of a book i think they'd each really like that relates to interests the two of us share, and ivory or light blue shawls to keep warm at the reception. Nothing huge or expensive perhaps, but with more individualized meaning than jewelry.

what are you all thinking? other good personal ideas?

I did flip flops, VS pajamas, earrings, personalized notepads, Lands' End tote bags, and name hangers.  There may have been something else in there too but I can't remember!  All of the things (except the flip flops) were different and tailored for each girl's personality.

I am doing personalized robes for each girl. I picked out fabric and had them sewn. I picked a fabriC i thought each girl would really love- and allthough the fabrics are different they are in complimentary colors.

Etsy.com is a great place to find personalize and custom gifts. My groomsmen received custom made ties (used in the wedding) as gifts but the best man also got a chess set made from shot glasses from Uncommon Goods (he loves to drink) and his other groomsmen got a custom cap (he really likes hats). My bridesmaids received personalize cosmetic purses with their name on it. I included custom cards - one for my MOH was a Jane Austen theme (her favorite author) and my other bridesmaid got a tea tumbler from Teavana along with teas (she is a tea enthusiasts).
