Russell Morin = COMPLETE BULLSH!T = RANT!!!!

hey ladies! I haven't posted in forever--my wedding is only a few weeks away ahhhhh!!! I wanted to post about some complete bullsh!t we've been dealing with for a while with RM--just in case some of you are thinking of booking them--I know they have a great reputation and I don't think they deserve it!!!!!

basically we had to stop working with them because Linden Place changed their rules on us and the new venue we booked does the catering there. it was almost a year out from our wedding so RM said if they could rebook the date, we'd get our 1K deposit back. very decent of them, right?

well fast forward 8 months of us checking in on them and getting "oh there are a few proposals out for that date but no one has booked" etc, etc...finally FI had one of his coworkers call, specifically ask for Liza who is the coordinator we worked with and ask about booking her wedding on our date with Liza...what did she say? "I'm sorry, I am already booked for that date"...BULLSH!T!!!!

of course FI was the next person to call her and basically was like WTF? and Liza denied even having the convo with FI's coworker...she offered to have Russell call FI which he did and instead of having a conversation with him about it, he offered 500$ of the 1K or said we can sue him...

it's very unfortunate since there was nothing they did wrong that made us have to pull out from the contract and we still really liked them...but now, HELLO whole different story...why would a company be so dishonest, esp over 500$??? and just string us along this whole freakin year???

I just wanted to stress that reputation isn't everything and maybe it's the company of the past that everyone thinks is so great but the way they runs things there now is ridiculous...and unfortunately for them, FI is a freakin lawyer so it's pretty funny that Russell suggested suing him--all day long buddy--we'll get your business docs that show you are booked on the date!!!!!!!!

COMPLETE BULLSH!T!!!!

    That is to bad but I have nothing but great things to say about them.  They catered my wedding a month ago today and I found them to be nothing but honest and professional.

    I didn't use them but had heard mostly good things about them.  

    I guess even a company with a good reputation can mess up from time to time.  I'm not gonna mention my limo company because they offered us a refund and made up for it, but a certain limo company that had a very good reputation on here was a disaster for us.  The driver was late causing a lot of stress for us as we were waiting and late for the ceremony, he didn't provide champagne even though it was part of our contract, and we paid in cash on the day of the wedding and a few days later they double charged my credit card.  I was very angry.    But, if you talk to people on here, it's a good company.

    Sorry you're going through that! Funny, at work yesterday we were just talking about RM, who caters an event for us, and we weren't really as happy with it as we had been in the past and were saying how much better the food from Blackstone was when they did it. We were wondering if RM isn't stretching themselves too thin with all of this recent expansion (now sole caterer for Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, doing more out of state, etc.) Read an article in Providence Business News about them recently and wasn't impressed by the message. Hope you settle your situation soon.

    thanks guys!! it's tough but luckily it really has nothing to do with our wedding so the day will still be amazing! (though the other 500$ DEF could've gone towards something!!!)

    Kristen--are you done with everything? I'll have to email you--we haven't chatted in forever!! Cool
