Hotel Venues

My FH and I have discussed having our ceremony and reception all in one location to make it easier for all of our guests, especially the out of state ones. Not to mention that it will save on transportation. :)

So I'm looking for opinions, thoughts on brides that have had their weddings at a hotel and/or are going to have their wedding at a hotel. Where was or is it? How was your experience? What to do, what not to do? Thanks!

    I am also doing the all in one venue as well. Same reasons, many out of town guests and saving on the transportation. We looked at a few venues in RI and ended up at a venue in Mass that actually turns out to be central location for our RI family/friends and his MA family/friends. We looked at teh Sheraton and I loved it , FI was Ok with it. We ended up going with the Holiday Inn in Mansfield. It fits all our needs, has exras we didnt expect, central location so those flying in can fly into Prov or Boston, and fell below our budget. Also has very heigh ceilings which FI has a thing for :)

    We are having our wedding at the Westin in Providence. It's not until this December but so far it has been a great experience.

    What size is your wedding going to be?  There is also hotel providence and some beautiful ones in newport if you want to spend the money there.

    My fiance and I are in the exact same boat. So far we're going to approach the Newport Marriott, the Newport Beach Hotel and Suites, and the Viking. The Marriott is our favorite thus far in the planning process, but we are concerned about the ridiculously high rack rate for rooms in the summer months. As we get more info about each venue, I'll be sure to post! Good luck!

    Thanks ladies!

    We actually haven't narrowed things down yet, but I think we're looking into the Sheraton, the Marriott, and the Radisson. Not definites, but those seem to be more in our budget than the others. The Hilton wasn't too bad priced either, but I'm afraid that we're going to go over the maximum guest limit they have, so I'm not too sure on that yet. We actually haven't sat down and narrowed out the guest list either. lolol
