Father/Daughter Groom/Mother Songs

Hi Ladies,

Hoping someone could give me some suggestion on father daughter songs and mother son songs. My father can't do much standing so i need somethign short and nice and i am having a hard time finding this.

I'm having my dad/his mom pick the songs they want.

You could ask your DJ to shorten whichever song you end up choosing - we did this for the mother/son song since it was really long!

I danced with my dad to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw & my husband danced with his mom to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban.

A good friend of mine danced to, "I loved her first" by Heartland with her dad.

The verses are all about how a father's little girl is in love and how's she growing up, etc. Here are the lyrics for the chorus:
 But I loved her first and I held her first

When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away

It's about a 3-3:30 minute song, but the touching thing that she did (which might work for you if you want to shorten it a bit) is that her dad handed her off to her husband about halfway through the song. There was seriously not a dry eye in the house. It was very touching.

i think the M/S dance was Child of Mine by Carole King.

we'd recently been to a bunch of weddings that used You raise Me up so decided against that,but it was a runner up

we did a combined father/daughter,mother/son dance and used "in my life" by the beatles.
