HELP! Where to take E-pics

So, I'm having my e-pics taken next sunday.  Here's my dilemma... my photographer told me that the trees will all be pretty bare by then and dont make for good backdrops.  They suggested architecture, (downtown providence or narragansett blvd. in warwick)  But, downtown Providence is where i've decided to take my wedding pics so i'd like something different... any ideas?  Also... any ideas of where to go if it rains :(

ps. ive lived in RI my whole life, and have never felt so lost. lol

TIA

I'm kind of in the same boat...except we're now looking at December for e-pics.

Even though there aren't too many tree left with foliage, it could still make for a rustic background...And, the leaves might not be on the trees, but they are on the ground..how about sitting in the leaves for a few? hehe There is a nice mix of elements at Roger Wiliams Park..architecture, trees, the pond...

You could always have them done on the beach...sit along some rocks...that never changes :-)

How do you feel about going to Roger Williams park.
I feel that you can use the bridge or the temple of music...

plus you can probably take some pictures on the carousel and stuff.

Otherwise, since you are using the "city" for the wedding. What about a beach for the engagement pics?

You can go to the end of scarborough get some on the water and then there is an old stone "house" ... it wont really be green but you can probably get some great shots.

or.. .one of my fav. engagment shots I saw was done in Newport. They took great pics just in the middle of thames street holding hands and stuff. and the people in the background were kind of blurred out....then you can take some on the cliff walk with teh ocean in the backround, and even at the carousel at Eastons Beach routunda (not sure if you can still access the building)... plus you can get some on the docks and stuff down there too.. .. actually when I think about it that opens up a lot of options,.. and because its going to be colder this weekend it might be pretty dead down there.

I second the RW park idea. I drive through it twice a day to and from work and there is still a lot of color there. There's a great, huge tree with really interesting branches on the property of the Betsy Williams Cottage (adjacent to the casino, near that statue of RW at the park entrance) that gets its leaves really late and also turns color really late. Plus there's great architecture at the Natural History Museum and Temple to Music, water locations, bridges, the carousel - and the zoo and/or botanical gardens could be fun, too, if you wanted to pay admission. (Also, the botanical gardens might be a good place if it rains.)

For indoor pics try the Providence Hotel and Roger William Botanical Garden. I think Hotel Nylo in Warwick also looks awesome for indoor pictures. We are going to do some pictures at the Bowling Alley since we love to bowl plus some outdoor pics. If we can take pics at Pastiche in federal hill, I'd love that too! It's our fave dessert place. If you love bowling or billards, that is an option for indoor pics. I saw e-pics of a couple who took their pics at an old record store because they love music and records. Just make it personal too.

Is Nylo back open from the floods? Someone was just asking me that and I didn't think it was. Very cool hotel, though!

I know today is the day you probably took pictures, but for future reference (or anyone else looking for a good place), we took ours at india point park, on the bridge to the east side, behind the hotel there, and under the overpass of the freeway.

I KNOW how crazy these must sound, but the lighting was really cool and we had a great industrial kind of background for pictures.  He'd gotten me flowers beforehand and it was really cool to have the warehouse background with us and the flowers.  It was super fun.  ... and we felt a little rebellious wandering around abandoned areas (I mean, we didn't trespass.... but still)
