Village Inn

Is anyone having or has had their wedding at the Village Inn?  Prices seem great, but pictures on website make it hard to determine what its like.  Any and all feedback, info, and pictures are welcomed!

I'm having my ceremony and reception there next April. Weather permitting, we're going to have our ceremony/cocktails on the sundeck and the reception in the ballroom.

I like the space very much. I was looking for something that wasn't cookie cutter, and while the VInn does have the more traditional ballroom feel, the large salt water fish tanks and beautiful views give it that little something different.

There are two bars in the space, which we liked very much, and the carpet and chairs are now navy blue and gold (as opposed to the lighter green and blue in the pictures on their website). There's also a lot of mahogany in the room as well, which we liked, but it's definitely a consideration in terms of your preferences.

We had a private tasting before we booked, and the food was phenomenal. They're also in the process of revamping the menu, and I'm sure it's going to be great. They have many, many different options for sit down and station dinners and are very flexible with their packages.

More than anything, Alyson, their event coordinator, was what sold me on the venue. My fiance and I are pretty laid back, so we really needed to work with someone young and enthusiastic. Alyson is definitely both of those things. She has tons of information and suggestions and really gets to know you as a couple. She's really bent over backwards for us and our families when we were trying to make a decision on a venue, and I couldn't be happier with her so far.

We're not having our wedding there, but we're using their caterer and I love alyson.  She sold us as well!  We've blocked rooms there and Annie has also been really great.

Did you take any pictures of the venue when you visited?  I'd love to see them if you wouldnt mind sharing!  It may be a month or so before I get down there to see it myself

    Sorry for not responding sooner!

I actually didn't take pictures the last time we were there. They have some up on their website - just search for Amalfi Catering in Rhode Island on Google. I think their pictures are up under galleries.

Alyson also posted pictures on the Amalfi Catering facebook page, and I think some of those are more useful in terms of seeing the layout, etc. Keep in mind that the carpet and chairs are now navy blue and gold (much richer looking in my opinion), not light blue and green.

The ballroom is on the second level of the hotel and the sundeck is on the third. They do have an elevator, and the space is easy to navigate.

If you'd like a description of the room, let me know.
