September 25 Vendor Review

I know this is overdue, but wanted to provide some feedback on a few vendors we used:

Ceremony:  Our Lady of Mercy Chapel , Salve Regina University A
What a beautiful chapel!  We received so many compliments on our ceremony.  Fr. Kris was hysterical and made the ceremony so personal for my husband and I.  The coordinator at the church was a bit of a pill....but we didn't really have to deal with her too much- just at the rehearsal.  I'm a graduate of Salve, so it felt really special to be married there, especially on parents weekend.  We took our pics on campus after the ceremony, and so many people visiting the campus came up to us to congratulate us and say they hope their daugther/son would be married there some day.  :)  I was so nervous parking was going to be an issue because of parents weekend, but it wasn't at all!

Reception:  Regatta Place A+

What a venue!! Melanie Helley was fantastic to work with.  Anytime I emailed or called her, she would respond right away.  She knew I had a budget to work with and offered us a great day package including a sail around Newport Harbor on the Aurora after the reception.  Tom, the GM, was also great to work with on the day of.  He was so on top of everything, and the day went very smoothly. Not one thing went wrong at the reception. Everything was more beautiful than I imagined... and our guests were blown away by the beautiful venue.  We also lucked out that we had such great weather.  It really made the day!

Makeup:  Jennie Kay Murphy A

Jennie did an amazing job on our make-up.  She gets great reviews on this board.  We had to start makeup at 7:00 a.m. since it was a morning wedding, and she and her assistant finished all 5 of us in record time.  I would definitely recommend her to other brides.

Flowers:  Karen Sechovicz  A
I loooved my flowers.  Karen is from my hometown in MA, and I was so happy that  she traveled down to RI for my wedding.   Some people called me boring because I wanted all white flowers, but she really ran with it and the end results were beautiful...and again, she worked within my buget.

Photographer:  Melissa DeSchamp  A++

Melissa was my favorite vendor of the day.  I have to note that she is a friend of mine, but she is super talented and affordable!  I was very nervous about pictures because my husband and I are not normally photogenic and can be awkward in front of the camera, but she made us feel so comfortable.  I have referred so many people to her, and everyone raves about her work.  She is also great about updating her blog.  I had a preview of my pictures when I returned from my honeymoon.  She also includes engagement pictures with her wedding packages.  I also want to mention the second shooter, Alana Scully, was great to work with too, and I loved our pics I have seen on her blog too!

Cupcakes:  Scrumptions  B+

I didn't get a chance to eat a cupcake, But everyone loved them, and they were beautiful too!  The only thing I didn't like, was we had to return the stand the day after the reception, and East Greenwich is out of our way since we live in MA.  But other than that, they were great to work with!

Trolley:  RockStar Limo A
They were on time, professional, and we had no issues.  I would reccomend them.  The trolley was clean, and they had bottles of water ready for us.  I mostly chose them because the navy trolley matched my bridesmaids dresses. :)
