Stressing about where to do pics

FI and I are getting married in 3 weeks and we still haven't picked a spot to do our formals pictures. We are getting married on a farm in Narragansett and eventhough we will do some pics there I also want some beachy shots. Any suggestions on beachy locations in the south county area that wouldn't be overly crowded? I read a post a few days ago about Hazard beach, but then my photog told me it was a private beach. I am totally stressing over this. We have a small wp so we would only need a few mins for shot, but I am so lost. Any ideas would be a great help. Thanks!

Re: Stressing about where to do pics

  • You can certainly do photos at Hazard Rock. a Post RI knottie did as well. Or you can do them at the end of Scarborough so that you are close to Kinney Bungalow (I assume there is where you are getting married), At the end towards the motel, where Blackpoint used to be (sorry, i am being a total rhode islander) there is an rea that is usuall clear of a lot of people. I would get out there and take a few shots.

Otherwise you could consider doing them on Narragansett Pier, in front of the Seawall.
  • I LOVE point judith - and the jetty!

  • Thanks for the tips. I was in a full on panic about not finding a location, but feel much better now with these options. I will take a ride down that way this weekend and check them out.
  • I would also suggest Scarborough Beach, Black Point is nice to. You might also want to consider the Point Judith Light House and there is also a field of flowers that might be in bloom to the rear of the light house makes a great image with the water in the background.
  • Camp Cronin is a beautiful location as well, with sweeping ocean views from the top of the stairs!
  • End of South Ferry Road is a small beach on URI's bay campus. It's beautiful with rocks and the Jamestown bridge is in the background. We also took pictures at Chafee refuge on Ocean Rd. You can't take pics at the Point Judith lighthouse anymore. I really wanted to but our photographer had recently tried to do an engagement seasion there and it's fenced.
  • We checked out the locations you all suggested and found them all wonderful. We especially loved Black Point, but found it was a little far from the parking lot. I'd hate to trek down to the rocks in a white dress and just my luck I would slip! That would have been my pick if the path was better. My photog suggested Camp Cronin fishing area as well so I think we will do them there. It's pretty there with the staircase and the rocks. Thanks again for all the great suggestions.
