Help! Hair & Makeup Artist suggestions For Narragansett wedding September 2012

Did anyone have any success finding a decent hair stylist and makeup artist? I am out of town and the only decent people I am finding are in providence and won't travel. thank you!

I'm using Serai, but Sara Faella (and her Glam Squad) and Kristen Greene all seem to get good review and all travel.  Hopefully someone will have availability.

I second Serai (thats who Im using). I also looked at sara and her glam squad, kristin greene IDo on site hair and makeup, Kerrie Baldwin, Beauty Entourage, makeup by Donna Viti, Joli Visage, Colleen Elizabeth makeup, formal hair design, Spectrum RI, Jennie Kay Murphy, Kit Kat Makeup Design 

Hope this helps...I did a lot of research before booking the one who i felt understood what I wanted

I used Lynda Williams of Formal Hair Design and Jennifer Hodge of Spectrum Makeup Artistry.  Both were amazing and traveled to me on the day of my wedding.  Very talented and wonderful to be around.  I highly recommend both of them!

Another vote for Lynda Williams of Formal Hair Design and Kirsten of Joli Visage. I used them both for my May wedding, also in Narragansett. They are both so awesome. They did an amazing job on all of us and were just really relaxed and fun to be around.

I'm using Sena from My Beauty.  She's located in Narragansett, and will come to your home.  She does FANTASTIC work!  She did my hair & make-up for my e-pics, and I just had my hair trial for the wedding!  www.mybeautyri.com.  She's also on Facebook as My Beauty.

Be careful about relying on reviews. We had a very negative experience with Sara Faella's Glam Squad. Very unprofessional. Broke contract. Arrived late, understaffed and failed to have us ready by contractually agreed upon time, Made us more than 30 minutes late for wedding and not fully made up. Unprofessional handling of unfortunate situation by Sara. Promised refund. Lied about having mailed check, then tried to renegotiate. Stay far away from hiring Sara or Glam Squad for anything time-sensitive. Sara demonstrated poor organizational skills, as evidenced by her over-booking stylists for 2 weddings with inadequate travel time allowed. She was "surprised" that there would be traffic heading to Newport!

thank you! I agree -- I was not crazy about the glam squad site -- it looked VERY different than Sara's site!

It seems like someone is bashing sara faella for no good reason. Stay off the knot if you're not a bride giving honest input!

Interesting that you feel honest feedback from a MOB who used a vendor's services is not welcome here. Isn't this forum intended to help provide balanced information for brides & families so that they can make informed decisions? Not sure what value is to be had if only positive comments are acceptable.
 
For the record, My DD & I used Sara's Glam Squad hair & make-up services for 8 members of our wedding party on 9/17/11 at a cost of $1288.  We were not satisified with the vendor's timeliness nor services provided. Why would this be considered "bashing", rather than just a customer's objective negative feedback?
Certainly there are brides-to-be interested in hearing differing opinions about a board "favorite" vendor.  I, for one, would've taken seriously a MOB posting about any vendor who caused a substantial delay in their wedding timeline.
