Newport Room Blocks

I was just curious if anyone had any recommendations or advice on room block locations in Newport?  I currently have a block at around $300 per night with a minimum night stay, this is for Sept 2010 and i was hoping to find an alternative in the $200 range... Any help would be great.

You should look at the big ones in Middletown.  I'm using the Hampton Inn and Suites and Comfort Inn across from Easton's.   I've heard the Holiday Inn is decent too, they just wouldn't let us block off rooms at the one year mark.  We also have some "cheap" rooms for our friends at the HoJo.

Check out the Best WEstern in Newport. They charge $50 to set up a room block but it was worth it for us because their rates are pretty low and they're close enough to cab to downtown.

I have room blocks for June at the Hampton Inn in Middletown and the Holiday Inn Express in Middletown, both under $300, one under $200....I also recommend venturing a couple miles down to Middletown for some much cheaper room rates.

I used the Hampton Inn, The Quality Inn and the Newport Beach hotel and Suites (which was actually quite nice).  This was in July (highest priced month) and they were still about 250$ a night.  They're nice beccause they are right across from the beach. GL

Thanks for all your help!  I plan on checking out Middletown hotels, the prices are a lot better and a 10 minute cab ride is not bad at all.
