10-10-10 reviews Part III

Tent company

ABC Rent-A-Tent: A

We chose to do a 30-by-40 frame tent right off the awning-covered deck of The Meeting House so we had one contiguous space from inside to tent. The frame tent isn’t as pretty as the century tents, but it was spacious and perfect for our group. We left the sides open all day and during dinner, then closed them and put the tent heater we rented on when it got chillier at night. They’ve worked at The Meeting House many times and know the territory, so it was an easy choice. They also did all the table and chair rentals for us. We rented one heater, which worked out perfectly.

Hotel block

Hampton Inn Westport: A

No problems with our block. Our coordinator arranged for a late checkout for me so I could get ready there. Our guests loved the rooms (the hotel was renovated fairly recently, so it was pretty nice) and the free, hot breakfast was fantastic.

Rehearsal dinner

Nonni’s Italian Kitchen and Pasta Shop, Tiverton: A

Nonni’s accommodated our group of 15 with no problem and we had a great meal. They said we could either just have everyone order off the menu or choose a few dishes, but we went with the former and it was great. We’ll be back next time we’re over that way!

Rentals

Quality Rentals in Pawtucket: A

We rented 10 navy 90-inch tablecloths from Quality Rentals just a few days before the wedding after a miscommunication with our caterer about the type of tablecloths they could provide for our cocktail tables. I wouldn’t really call the color navy, but they were fine.

Jewelry

Rings: MRT, East Providence: A+

I can’t say enough about MRT. We shopped for and he bought my e-ring there and I’ve still not seen another like it. I’ve whacked my hand and bent prongs twice and they fixed it while I waited with no appointment or anything. They were super patient with me trying to find the right wedding ring to go with my e-ring (unique style and profile) and then held our rings so we could pay on them a little at a time with no interest charges or anything. I dropped off my e-ring to be redipped a few days before the wedding and asked what the cost would be and she said nothing, it’s our wedding gift to you. Love them!

Necklace: The Claddagh Connection, Bristol: A

Denise worked with me to find the perfect necklace to honor my late mother’s Irish heritage and even special ordered one for me when she found one in back that I loved but that had lost a stone. I got a ton of compliments on my necklace and I will wear it all the time now.

Nails

Salon Bianco, Providence: B

I got the CND Shellac in French. They charged $28 when I went three weeks earlier just to try it out and see how long it lasted, but then the day before the wedding she was going to charge me $36 until I said something. The Shellac lasted pretty well, but not the 14 days they advertise, and I’m easy on my nails. Still, I’d recommend it because it’s cured with UV light and so it’s completely dry and solid when you leave the salon.

Blue Sky Spaworks: C

My husband got me a GC here for my birthday and I decided to save it for a wedding pedicure. My feet looked fine and all, but she never asked which kind of pedicure (different scents, etc. available) I wanted and it was not worth the $53 the pedicure cost. I also didn’t love the setup compared to other places I’ve been and I don’t think I’ll be back for that particular service.

yay! glad to hear about MRT
we took our pup to rumford pets a few weeks ago and stopped in at MRT since we're rarely over that way. (and they let our puppy come in with us as long as we held her!)

I found the selection to be tremendous...I found wedding bands that perfectly suited my ring (also a tough one to match)...

I have gone to other places nearby and explained the "vintage, paveish, filigree" ring I found at MRT and no one seems to understand what Im looking for, and continues to show me the same single pave ring with a notch.

Hearing this makes me want to run back to MRT today!
