Photographers and DJ

So, I wrote a board for help with a venue and everyone was really really great!  Now I am at the next step of finding a photographer and DJ.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for photographers and DJs that are good quality, but that I can also fit into my budget wedding(in Jamestown, RI)??

I would greatly appreciate any ideas or suggestions.  Thank you all in advance!

This probably doesn't help with budget bc both are pricey for their field, but I am using Victor from Partytime for my DJ and Scott Zuehlke for my photographer.  Victor is high energy and absolutely awesome!  Scott is very laid back and takes amazing pictures.  These were two extremely important areas for us, so we found the best people we could work with who would make our day amazing.  Good luck!

I am using Andre Blais as my photographer.  He is very reasonably priced and super flexible to work with.  We just had our engagement session last week and already have our pics back- we couldnt be more thrilled!

I am using Manny Correira from A Bride's Day, he is very affordable and can build a package for ANY budget. He is flexble, can do multiple photographers or just one. He can also do any time whether you want 4 or 8 hours, it's up to you.

He was so nice and we had a blast doing our engagement photos! My picture here was taken by him!

DJ Joe Lima out of Dartmouth MA is great and he travels to RI.  His prices were really reasonable and so far he's been super easy to work with and really nice!

We used Portrait New England and they were very flexible with our budget, we got exactly what we wanted for a great price, and our pictures were fantastic. We hired them based on a friend's recommendation and are now in the position to recommend them to all of our engaged friends! Their website is www.portraitnewengland.com

We didn't end up hiring a dj but we liked Sound Force Unlimited. They did a wedding we attended and we loved his personality and they kept the party rockin.

Good luck with your vendor search- planning this part was my favorite ;)

We are using Dana Pierce photography out of New Bedford and they are very reasonable price wise.

We are using John Bellagamba for our DJ and Lisa Berry for our photographer!  Both I recommend highly!  Quick response rates, professional and overall easy to work with!

I swear I'll post my reviews eventually...

But we hired Andy Gomes from Men with Many Hats Entertainment. The company is owned by another DJ named Steve Bishop. Andy was absolutely awesome and their rates are fantastic. He downloaded songs for requests during the reception and was really great at keeping the party going without being the center of attention.

^ I am looking forward to those long overdue reviews hehe

What is your price point? The word budget is a broad term. My photography budget was 3500 - I spent just a little bit under that so it depends on how much you want to spend.

I realize budget is a broad term!  I am definitely turning into a very financially conservativer bride due to the fact we are paying for everything ourselves.

If possible I would like to keep photography under $1,500

I highly recommend DJ Jason Mello.  He's DJ'd a few parties I have been to and I knew I wanted him to DJ my wedding. He just DJ'd my wedding shower on the 9th and everyone loved him!  He is very easy to work with and wants to make sure your day is exactly how you want it. His prices are very good and much more reasonable then a lot of DJ's out there.
    Check out his website http://jasonmellodj.com/
    Good luck!   :)

I'm another Victor Bride. But I have to say he isn't super budget friendly. He does however, have a package for slightly more than your budget.

Also, we are using Hello,Love photography. I had an issue with my photographer originally and it fell through and the girls on the board were great in helping me find a replacement.

Her package is more than you are looking to spend that we are using, but she does have  a package for that price range for 6 hrs of photography.
We wanted to spend around 2000-2500 and we met with Manny at a Bride's Day also and he was in that range.

A lot of people mention Memories RI as being really affordable.

Also. Danielle Lefebvre shot my friends wedding and she really liked her, her packages are in your budget.

We're using The Murphys (used to be James Murphy Photography but it's the same duo).  We booked James and Tana for all day coverage for around $2K so if you're looking for less, it would be less expensive.

I am also a Victor from Partytime Bride so I am using him for our DJ since Entertainment and Photography was very important to us. I do agree with the girls who are Victor brides, he is kind of pricey but trust me he is worth every penny. He is great to work with.
For Photographers we ended up choosing Valentino Photograpy and paid about (2800) for the whole day with two photographers. I thought that was very reasonable and he takes great pic's.

    Goodluck! :)
