Ceremony/Reception Venue

Hi all!
I am getting married in the Spring of 2012 in RI.  I have not nailed down a date yet because I can't seem to find the right fit for my reception.  I am looking for a place where we can get married outside and then have the reception inside.  I am inviting about 125 people. The biggest thing is my budget is small, I don't want to spend more than $5100 for the ceremony/reception.  Does anyone have an good suggestions.  Oh BTW my fiance hates The West Valley Inn!!!

We are getting married at the Linden Place Museum in Bristol, RI which seems to be what you are looking for. Our ceremony is outside in the garden and then the reception is in a carriage house. The carriage house holds up to 130 and if you book on a Friday or Sunday the price is cheaper!

There is MANY places that you could get away wiith that budget. Not sure what atmosphere you're looking for but here's a few to try: Valley Country Club in Warwick, Arrowhead Acres in Uxbridge MA, Coachmen's Lodge in Bellingham MA, Roger Williams Park w/ the Botanical Gardens or Casino in Providence.

We're getting married at the north beach clubhouse in narragansett on the beach.  You could get married on the beach or on the deck and then have the reception right inside.  The only problem is I think they have a 100 person limit, so it could be too small for you.

Just got married at The Glen Manor House in Portsmouth and we LOVED everything about the venue. The house and grounds are beyond beautiful and the ocean views are incredible. Also, the manager, Katie, is a joy to work with! Also helps if you're a Portsmouth re

I'm getting married at Crystal Lake in Mapleville. Its really beautiful and not really talked about too much, not sure why! We are getting married in the gazebo right beside the lake and then the reception is in a large room that fits up to 200 guests which over looks the lake. The room rental fee and ceremony fee are under $1k so its very budget friendly!

The Meeting House in Tiverton is my venue and you can get married outside or in, but dinner would be under a tent with dancing inside, so I'm not sure if that's what you want. I think it would be tough to do the whole reception for $5,100 including food, but it depends on what kind of meal you want.

Which brings me to: Do you want something where the food is included or to bring in your own caterer? I'm assuming the $5,100 includes food costs, or is that just rental? If it's for the whole thing, I think that takes Glen Manor, the Botanical Gardens at RWP and maybe even Linden Place out of the running - but maybe not depending on what kind of meal you want.

Easton's Beach Rotunda in Newport is nice - ocean view and your ceremony is on the beach.  Oh, you could check Kinney Bungalow in Narragansett; they have an outdoor ceremony site and reception is inside. I think everything else I looked at was too small for 150; even Kinney might be small for that. ETA: I don't know where I got 150; you're looking for 125, Kinney would be fine and you might check into The Towers in Narragansett. You can get married at the gazebo a little distance away for like $30 additional (paid to the town.)

If you're really on a budget and want to bring in your own caterer, there's the carousel (building, the carousel is gone) at Goddard Memorial State Park, which you can rent for $200 for the entire day! But the only caveat there is no alcoholic drinks are allowed in the park.

Wow!  Thanks for all the help.  You guys gave me a lot of ideas!  To answer KB_RI yes $5100 is my total budget for the ceremony/reception!  I am inviting about 125 people.  So far there are a couple of places that seem to fit my budget.. Venus Di Milo, Meadow brook Inn, Twelve acres, and Quidnesset CC.  What do you guys think about these places.

I'm not married or engaged yet, but I can tell you first hand Quidnessette is gorgeous!!!!! I'm from Westerly RI originally and had my prom there.  Since then I have been to a few weddings there.  You can do everything , ceremony and reception there. They have a veranda that opens up to a gazebo.  So you ceremony can be outside (but your still covered) and there are breathtaking views of Narragansett Bay as the backdrop. And if your concerned with cost, have you thought of perhaps doing your wedding on an off night such as a Thursday?  I believe Quidnesset waives its minimums for off nights and days.  The website doesn't do it justice at all.  If your in the RI area Id definitely recommend checking it out.
