Flowers

I am just curious at good flower prices for the area. I just got my flower quote and it was about 600 over what I had budgeted for. I have a pretty large wedding, 7 attendents, 2 flower girls...we are getting married at Aldrich Mansion, pretty simple table arrangements, nothing too too out landish...I felt the price I got was pretty fair even though its over my budget, I had budgeted about 2400 and my quote was for 3075. I just wanted to get prices from people to see if this was pretty on track as far as prices.
Thanks in advance!!!

What type of flowers are you using and how many centerpieces? Did your florists offer to work within your budget by using less expensive blooms or smaller centerpieces? Also, a factor most people don't consider is the overhead cost and number of employees the florist has so the cost of rent,  labor, delivery, and supplies is also passed on to you in the final bill.

However, I found the number of arrangements/centerpieces and types of bloom was the biggest factor in determining price. Renting vases or providing my own containers cut down cost. I also sought out budget friendly florists like Golden Gate, Florals by Alisa and a few others. In the end, I had a local florist do my personal flowers and Whole Foods do my centerpieces. I provided the vases for my high and low centerpieces which saved me money. I also used mostly seasonal flowers with the exception of the orchids, which would be used sparringly. Overall, my quote for 12 centerpieces, 1 bouquet, 10 bouts, and two corsages ( no BM bouquets) plus fresh rose petals came a little under 1,000.

Oh wow! I let the florist know I was on a budget, but didn't give the exact number. The quote was for Twigs, which is pretty budget friendly, I have had friends who have used them before. I have 20 tables, 11 corsages, all the attendents/groomsmen, the centerpieces are pretty simple, and come in at 50.00 each. When I was looking to do them myself, the containers themselves were 10.00 each, and that was buying them in bulk. So, I am thinking 40.00 in flowers on each table. We are using seasonal flowers with gerber daisies.
Thank you for your help! I have heard that Golden Gate is really pricey, but that is worth looking into as well!
The labor / tax is what set them over my budget, the overall cost of the fllowers wasn't too bad...that is the key part I didn't include!

    Hello!
I too was in your situatuion and i`m using gerbera daisies too!  I got quotes from Florals by Alissa, Golden Gate, Dave's Marketplace and Baskets in East Greenwich and last but not least with Check the Florist in Providence.  The highest proce i got was from Dave's, then Florals by Alissa and then Golden Gate and finally ended up with Check.  We are having our wedding at Crystal Lake and will have about 12 tables.  For the ceremony peices, bouquests for myself plus 5 bridesmaids, all the guys flowers, 2 ring bearers and all of the moms, dads and grandparents, cake table, 12 centerpeices, and seating card table with tax and delivery for around 1550.  I met with the owner and was there for about 2 hours...he kept getting flowers and making samples so I could see evrything.  It was by far the best experience I have had with a florist and I cannot recommend them enough.  Give them a call!  They work with all budgets!!!

Jay the owner of Golden Gate tends to like big, lush and elaborate centerpieces. You just have to keep him in check and tell him up front your budget. He does do a ton of weddings a week, so much so he can drive down cost which I know doesn't make him a favorite among other florists. Toni Chandler, who is known for her high end designs and platinum type weddings is actually pretty reasonable. Her daughter Christine from Studio 539 is also budget friendly. Also, Pam from Blooming Blossom - she is really willing to work with ANY budget no matter how big or small. Her deposit requirements are also small so spacing out payments is easy.  I would suggest getting a few more quotes. As for Twigs, did you work with Bobby? I know a bride who paid most of the payments in cash and they gave her a small discount. G.L

I used Toni Chandler and  she was very reasonable.  I had 20 tables, 5 cocktail tables, 3 attendants bouquets, 3 groomsment bouts, mother bouquet and father of bride boutinierre (spelling?) and I paid close to 2800.  Initially I had flowers for the church but I eliminated them to cut the cost.  I also checked out Clements Market and the cost was $1000 less but the customer service needed a great deal of improvement which drove me a way. Good luck you have alot of wonderful suggestions.

It really depends what kind of flowers you are using.  I paid more than that for less tables, less bouquest, bouts, etc. but we used expensive flowers like peonies and orchids.
