Rhode Island

Low key beach venue

Ok very new to all of this!  My fiancé and I just got engaged on New Years, and as much as we want a VERY small wedding, it is looking like our families aren’t going to let that happen.  At any rate we live in New York, but he grew up vacationing in RI every summer.  This past summer we rented a house in Bonnet shores, and totally fell in love with Rhode Island.  So we have decided to have our wedding there.  We are looking in the Narragansett area, as well as Watch Hill, which was probably my favorite place in RI.  We are looking for a very low key, laid back venue.  Beach themed, ideally on the water.  We are hoping to stay under 100 guests, though it may be 150.  The other thing is we are thinking about having it this august, as he is a teacher and summer would be best and we really don’t want to wait until next summer.  Will anything still be available for this upcoming summer?

Thanks so much,

Christine

It doesn't hurt to check places. Check out Easton's Beach Rotunda. Super pretty, you can have the ceremony right on the beach. And there's a carosel that you can use for a part of the event.

Try south ferry church.  Not far from Bonnet shores and it's gorgeous, and about right for roughly 100 people.  Our wedding was sooooo pretty there.  We also had our ceremony (for 100 people) at the North Beach Clubhouse.    Here's a link to our wedding photos which shows a lot of south ferry church...

one word of warning, it wasn't open for our rehearsal dinner (you can see us climbing in our photos, eek!).  I was pretty angry about that, but it was open for our wedding which is what counts!   So, if you get married there, make sure they have promised a thousand times that it will be open when you need it to be.

North Beach Club House would be the perfect venue for you! It is in Narragansett on the beach.

Cgorman, dels was easy... you just go to their website or call them up, tell them how many people and they'll just show up.  It was like 200-250 for 100 people with 2 flavors... one of my favorite parts of our wedding day!   If you have any other questions feel free to email me at anne.azano@gmail.com.
