Calling all Roger Williams Park Casino Brides!!!

I have a wedding planned at the Casino in Roger Williams Park in just 6 weeks and we have a problem. I stopped by and found that the gold ballroom chairs are in terrible shape. About 30-40% of the paint has chipped off of them since we saw them last summer. They tell me that they get repainted now and again by the maintenance crew, but they're down some workers due to injuries. I'm afraid that they won't get repainted before my wedding in 6 weeks!

Has anyone out there used this venue? Did you have this problem? How did they handle it? Please let me know if you have any details. We don't have the extra $2000 available to rent new chairs :-(

I have to stress that aside from this the venue and staff have been fantastic. It's a great place. I just want to know if anybody else had this issue.

    Hello!

Really? You think the chairs will be okay? That sounds great!

I always loved Pizzico! Such great food! We obliged my in-law's request though and booked a venue of their choice for the rehearsal dinner. I'm sorry :-( One of those situations where if they are contributing we have to take their input. I will definately keep Pizzico in mind for future parties though. I'm sure there will be many celebrations in our future :-)

Wow that was fast.  They were brand new at our wedding in October 2009.  Hmm, I guess that is a long time ago now, huh.  :-)  They didn't even tell me they were switching chairs, I thought we were getting the brown wooden ones (which I was fine with).  Halfway through the evening I was like, what am I sitting on??  I didn't even notice!!  Hope your wedding goes well!

I'll have my future mother-in-law call! We're having our RD there Memorial Day weekend and she'll flip if they need updating.  Keep us posted!

I'm not getting married there until October.  When I saw the chairs in July, I was already thinking they could use a paint job!  I can only imagine what they must look like now if you're saying they're much worse!  I don't know if you are as OCD as me, but I'd be there with paint myself if they won't take care of it for you.  Just a thought..... :)

Cozmo1145: Believe me! I offered! The maintenance crew is union though so I can't touch them myself. I would have recruited everyone I know to help.

Everything's okay now! I got a call from Heather yesterday saying that they needed to re-do the floors first so the chairs got put off, but that they are going to be repainted within the next two weeks so they will definately be ready in time for my wedding. Phew! Minor panic attack!

Now I'm back to loving the venue and being nervous about everything else :-)
