program alternatives

Any ideas?
I'd like to stay away from the traditional handout type -- or atleast have some funky cool thing going on with them!

Re: program alternatives

  • I, too, would skip them rather than try to be creative with them. They are only going to get thrown in the trash, no matter how "cool" they are, and it's pretty last minute to try and get creative.

I think you have enough on your plate with not knowing how many people from work will be coming. And I'm not saying that to be snarky. I just think the guest list thing is a bigger issue for you than the programs at this point. Don't create more work for yourself.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • We just skipped them. They aren't necessary.
  • How about a fan that is also a program?

  • I agree nixing is definitely an option if they're not important to your ceremony.

However, another idea I've seen is a large chalkboard w/ a nice frame that has information written on it. It is normally set at the front of the ceremony area, and just lists the attendents, officiants, and readers, etc., instead individualized layouts of the service. Of course, you need someone who has really nice writing, so this might be a large request on short notice. Just google image "chalkboard program" and you'll see what I mean.

We're not doing programs, but while I was considering them here are the ones that I found that I really loved (both from Etsy)
