Where to take engagement/wedding photos

We're getting married in 36 days and I'm thinking about going somewhere scenic to take post-wedding photos. The ceremony will end around 4pm and we would have an hour and a half to take photos.

Where in RI would you recommend? Is there a good place to view the sunset? Or maybe a garden, beach, etc.?

Suggestions are much appreciated!

Where is your ceremony/reception? (just thinking you might not want to be traipsing across the entire state on your wedding day so it will help to know what areas to suggest!)

The wedding and reception will be in Gilbert Stuart Road in North Kingstown. I'm considering having photos taken at the Gilbert Stuart Museum but it costs $200 to do that so I'm looking for alternatives!

I'm getting married in North Kingstown too next month and I'm looking for a place for pictures too. I was looking into getting picutres taken at Smith's Castle because its gorgeous there, but now that I see that it will cost $200 to get them taken at Gilbert Stuart, I'm sure it will cost a lot there too. Good luck, and if I come up with anything I'll get you know!

The village of Wickford is really cute.  You could do fun poses just walking down the streets (esp. the one with all the older houses on it) as well as over by the marina area with the boats in the background.  There are lots of cute shops along the streets too.

You could also head towards EG and over to that big park.  I always see brides/grooms taking pics over there by the carousel.

There is Casey Farm on 1A, which would have scenic views of the bay/bridge, or a flower farm Robin Hollow somewhere around there maybe you could call, or this little holistic healing place called SunRose Farm on Gilbert Stuart Road that has a garden open to public, and there is Plum Beach (but that might be private).  Otherwise I agree with Wickford being super cute!

edit:  A little further is the New England Wireless and Steam Musuem in EG, or Goddard park, too!

Here's a photo (not me!) from that little bridge near the carousel at Goddard Memorial State Park on the EG/Warwick line.

Might be a little far for the wedding, but you also mentioned engagement pics, so I'll include the botanical gardens at URI, which are gorgeous. They do charge for a ceremony but if you just want to take photos there, it is free but they appreciate a donation. I have a pamphlet if you are interested or there's contact info online: http://www.uri.edu/cels/ceoc/ceoc_programs_gsp_dg.html

There are also some areas in Jamestown that would be nice, and that's not so far from NK.

The URI gardens are very pretty right now. And right down the road there is also the URI Kinney Azalea gardens,   http://www.kinneyazaleagardens.com/ which are open free to the public and are in bloom (kinda...they would be better if we had some sun).  I just took my engagment pics there!

We're having our post Wedding pics done at The Elms and Rosecliff... my favorite places in Newport but unfortunately it came at a cost as they charge you for use of their grounds :(
