Groom's cake

I was quoted $10 per person, 25 people minimum ... Does this sound a little pricey or is it just me? Anyone else doing a groom's cake? And if so, how much were you quoted and what bakery are you using? I would love some recommendations.

I'm going to be tasting Sin in 2 weeks.  I'm excited.  My mom set up the appointment so I have no idea what we were quoted!

It was 300 for 30 people

I am doing one from lasalle bakery
I was quoted 150$ feeds 25-30

 I am actually going to go with a smaller one that is 80$ and feeds 15-20

I haven't shopped around yet, but was wondering what you all are doing for your groom's cake...i.e. Red Sox theme or Star Wars theme, etc. I'm leaning towards a Sox theme but might see if someone could do a Murcielago car (his fav sports car). :-)

I am getting mine from Corby's Cakes and Cookies.  My quote was $165 and it feeds 30 people.  Shemry, the owner, does not really price per a person, it is more based on what you want.  I am getting Tim a PS3 themed cake with all sorts of games and add ons.  Should be fun!

I also used Shemry from Corby's and I paid around $180 for my Hubs' cake. Like pp mentioned, it's based on design.

I would definitely call Sin. I actually just did a rave post for them a few minutes ago; Excellent to work with and amazing quality!

Thanks for the info girls! It's greatly appreciated. I was actully looking to do a Star Wars themed groom's cake. Boys and Star Wars...I just don't get it at times. I think I might look into all of the bakeries listed in this post and see what they can do for me.
