Botanical Center Brides

I just booked the Roger Williams botanical center for my wedding in November 2012.  Any tips/stories??  We are going to have 150 guests.  Will it be crowded?  I am so excited about this venue, it is so pretty!

I'm getting married there on 10/6/12!!! Are you planning on using the tent?  If not, the reception area may get a little crowded, especially if you want to fit a dance floor in there.
I'm going to have just under 100 people, and we are planning on splitting the tables up in the small reception room, and put the dance floor in the middle.  Heather said that we can probably fit 5 tables per side, maybe 6, but that will also depend on whether or not you will need room for buffet tables or if you are doing a served/plated dinner.

Let me know if you have any questions, or if you want pictures.

Yay! I'm getting married there in January, also with about 150 people. We're putting a small dance floor in the small conservatory room, and then just putting all the dinner tables in the big hall (Heather told us they'd fit, we believe her!). So there will definitely be different "activity areas", but I hope that's a good thing rather than a bad one for the guests!

My FI works for the city of prov and he found out we can get the Botanical Gardens for a great discount! We are so far out with a Nov 2013 wedding that I haven't done much more than check out websites. What does the inside areas look like? Are you in the greenhouse? or is there a seperate reception area? Or is the entire building at your service? Thanks!

We're thinking of booking the site for 10/14/12!    I'm SOOOO excited...been searching the web for ideas on how to plan the ceremony/reception.  We're having a much smaller wedding with ~50 guests so we can have a dance floor and dinner tables all in the big room... trying to have an elegant and fun wedding within a reasonable budget!

I just found this post because I am considering the botanical gardens for 9/7/13.  If you google it, there is an absolutely stuning wedding that took place there that looks to be out of my price range but nonetheless beautiful.  Other than that I haven't found too much as far as pictures of real weddings.   If anyone has any photos of the space or weddings done there please forward - abowers926@gmail.com.

Even though the site fee isn't outrageous, the only thing kinda holding me back is having to rent everything considering I want chivari chairs and colored linens or at least an overlay...etc.

We will see, I want to go take a look at it.

    I forgot about this post!
We are going to have a small bump out tent and put the dance floor in the tent to free up some space.  My caterer said she has some good ideas on how to make everything seem spacious so I am anxious to hear her thoughts.

    Hi guys!

I was actually just looking around to see if there were any good new pictures of Botanical Center weddings and I saw this post. I got married there 3 years ago and remember wishing there were more photos then! If it helps, here are pictures of my wedding from September 2008:

We had around 120 people, and had the ceremony and reception inside the botanical center. Hurricane Kyle was passing by that weekend, so it was nice to be all inside one building. We had the ceremony in the front (smaller?) greenhouse and dinner in the back. After the ceremony, our caterer moved all the chairs from the ceremony to the room where the tables were set up for dinner. Then we had dancing and dessert in the room the ceremony was in. It worked well--people who weren't interested in dancing/music got to linger in the dinner room, or come out and mingle--although since our first dance wasn't in the same room as dinner, some people missed it! That could be fixed by announcing it several times, instead of just once like we did.

If you have questions about using the space, feel free to get in touch with me at hoopsterwedding at gmail.com
  • i thought they didn't allow music in there??? i thought it was because of the glass windows....how much you girls ended up paying?
  • Hi girls!!! Congratulations to all of you!!! I was looking to have my wedding there in Novemember of 2013 and I was wondering how easy or hard it has been planning for a wedding at the Botanical Center?! I am in love with the space, and I want to have about 130 people at my wedding... How much did the space itself cost? and what other things were needed (i.e caterer, tables, chairs, other rentals, etc.)??
