Double Envelopes

So I am looking at invitations and trying to figure out if the two envelopes is a must for a wedding invitation. I think if we opted to do a pocket invitation or a petal invite, I don't think an inner envelope is absolutely necessary.  What are your thoughts if the invite is a double layer flat card? Thank you!!!

I am actually in the process of finishing up my invitations. When I was initially planning, I was going to do a pocket invite because I loved the look, but realized that adds weight. So my solution was a matted invitation, and I bought envelope liners so that you can't see through the front of the envelope. With the matted invite, the reception insert, RSVP card/envelope and liner, my invite is still good to go with a 44 cent stamp. I can email you pictures of everything if you'd like to see :)

If you do go with the pocketfold or petal invite though, I don't think you need an inner envelope at all. If you have any going international, I would add a piece of chipboard and maybe another envelope so it doesn't get damaged. I am having to do that with one of mine.

Thank you!  That is great to know.  I forgot about the liner, that can add the poplished touch so the second envelope isnt necessary!  I would love to see pictures! How do we do that? (bare with me I am still knew to working with this site)  Also, would you mind relaying where you got your invite supplies from?

I am doing a pocketfold with no inner envelope.  I'm just being specific with who is invited on the outer envelope.
