Tux or Suit Rental

Hi ladies,

I usually let my FH worry about what he's going to wear when we go places, so I don't know ANYTHING about men's clothing... especially formalwear.  I have many questions... and neither of us are from here, so he doesn't really know the answers to our questions either.  We have several guys in the group who are on very tight budgets, but we still want everyone to coordinate.  We'd like to find complete package rentals for no more than $100/guy, but we will go up to $130 if we have to.  We are open to purchasing suits as well, but as you can see our budget limits that option (unless you know something I don't).  Any help at all is much appreciated....

1)  Other than Men's Warehouse, where do you get a rental?
2)  Does it matter if all the boys have on the same shoes (as long as their all leather, or all shiny, or all black)?
3)  Where did your guys get their rentals?  What was your experience?
4)  I prefer suits over tuxes.  Do these places rent suits?
5)  Help.

Thanks ladies!  TGIF :)

We'll be going to Carl Anthony Tuxedo in Cranston, RI.

Haven't been there yet but have been referred by many people and know it's a great place. Pretty sure they can meet your budget too. I've heard horror stories about Men's Warehouse and Ana's Bridal & Tux...I think if you guy the suit buying route, they will end up spending more money, but it's also something they'll wear again...

    Good luck!

P.S. I found this awesome site where you can design a tux.

It just so happens the looks we like are sold at Carl Anthony...

We also used Carl Anthony and they were absolutely fantastic!

We used carl anthony too and they were great... however, in the end we decided it was a mistake to book them.  Not that they did anything wrong, they were perfect!  However, you have to go there a lot!  to try suits on, to pick them up and to drop them off.   We were getting married in narragansett and it felt like a lot of trips, especially when there were closer places.  Life is sooooo busy in the days leading up to a wedding, we wished we had booked with a place that was closer to the wedding and where we were staying.  So, I'd also consider location when you make your decision.
P.S.  I sound like such a rhode island complaining about a trip from narragansett to cranston, but it was summer, there was traffic and each trip took like 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back!

    @ anne.azano

I understand your point about the travel...I am not sure they offered it when you got married, but on their website, it says they deliver tuxes. We are going to look into that and see what the cost is...it'd be great to get that chore off the Best Man's list! :-)

Dansbride, God, I wish I'd know that!  It was such a pain!  All our groomsmen and the groom are from australia, so none of them could drive over in America.  Because there were 5 of them, plus a driver, when we needed to go to the tux shop, 2 of my family members to go back and forth with them to Cranston.

However, I do want to reiterate that carl anthony tuxedo did a great job.  I cannot make one complaint about their service, and our situation was a bit unique in that we had all the groomsmen from a different country coming in a few days before the wedding.

Hmm, tuxes are something I haven't even begun to look into.  Does anyone know what an average rental costs?  For some reason I was thinking $60-70, but hearing  $100-130 is making me curious.
