Unique Wedding Venue?!?!

Hi ... my fiance and I just got engaged! Before we can set a date, though, we're trying to locate a venue.  I'll probably need to host approx 150 guests (I have a fairly big family) and have a modest budget.  I think the best way for me to tackle this is to think outside the box ... any ideas?! Anything creative, different? ... maybe not a venue posted on each and every site?

Thanks!!

My venue is Easton Beach Rotunda which is a non-traditional venue. It has all the convenience (free parking and close to guest accommodations) but with some unique features like the carousel. We love the wrap around deck (for cocktails) and the sweeping ocean views. We are also getting married right on the beach. The Rotunda can host up to 170 people. It's also tge most budget friendly venue in Newport (along with the ABC that is right next door). You do have to bring in your own caterer which worked out for us.

Two other locations we considered were IYRS (also in Newport) and the Roger William Botanical Gardens (Providence). IYRS exposed brick walls and sail boats, nautica feel is modern and quitessential Newport. I believe IYRS has a limited capacity of 200 but you can double check via their even info page.

The Botanical garden's lush greenery makes for a beautiful layout for a wedding. I believe the max is 150 but there is also the addition of a tent.

I love IYRS-- amazing, unique feel.  The Newport Art Museum is also fabulous--- we fell in love with it, but, it may be a little on the small side for your needs if you want to do a seated dinner (max is around 100).  However, if you wanted to do cocktail/ passed hors devours, I'd definitely check it out (and both places, you'd go with outside catering so you can pick someone within your price range.)  Good luck!

    Hello,
Have you considered renting a photo booth to add that extra fun factor to your wedding reception? New England Mojo is a fantastic photo booth rental company! Here is their website:

I am looking into Whispering Pines, at Alton Jones for my venue.

I also really like the Chester House in Weterly....BUT no hotels close to either location.  Try to keep that in mind if you are having a lot of out of town guests.
    Happy searching!!  :)
