Providence Hotel Blocks

Dreamed of staying at the Biltmore the night of the wedding and found out today that they are not taking hotel blocks the weekend of my wedding. Are there any similar old fashioned hotels in Providence? How is the renaissance. i also wanted to use the hotel as a backup in case it rains for pictures. Is it a big deal to stay in a separate hotel than the main hotel block for the wedding?

    As long as you get a hotel nearby it should be fine, the hotel is for convenience, I don't think it's right or wrong to stay at a different hotel.

    I've heard rave reviews of the Mariott, and I often stay at the Westin in Providence, which is walking distance from the Biltmore.
