The Rennaisance Hotel, Providence, RI

Just wondering if anyone had a wedding or is planning to have a wedding at this venue.  I love the Belle Mer, but it is just too expensive and the food is very different.  Looking for a place mor ein my budget, yet very nice.  Let me know you thoughts, and let me know if you know of any other venues in RI that I have not thought of.  Preferably without a site fee!

    I had similar issues when I researched places. I wanted something high end and vintage, but have a tight budget for the number of people I need to invite. I went with the Casino at Roger Williams Park. It is less expensive than the Mansions but it has a nice ballroom and is unique. You bring in your caterers so you have control over the price in that way and you have alot of options for what you want to do with bar. The fee also includes the nice golden chairs and tables.     My wedding is planned at the Renaissance for June of 2011! I love the feel of hotel and although I originally wanted my reception at the Westin or the Biltmore, I fell in the love with the uniqueness of the Renaissance. Sarah, the wedding planner there, is fantastic to work with so far! She's all about planning whatever you have in mind. For instance, we're doing our cocktail hour in the lounge, instead of the foyer to the ballroom, and doing all upscale bar food for our cocktail hour, such as mini kobe beef sliders and mini grilled cheese.

    HI, I am interested in this venue as well, but called twice and haven't heard back. Does anyone have their direct contact line? I work literally 2 blocks away, so I hoping to walk over on my lunch one day to check it out.

    Hi! just wanted you to know I looked it today.

    Its cheaper than the biltmore and has a lot more spunk

    the only thing I didint like was the decor in the ballroom--that carpet is SOOO loud.

    im having her do a sample menu for me

    the rooms are gorgeous

    its a 14-16 k min on sat.
