St Lucy's Middletown RI

We have decided on Belle Mer for next May but are having trouble finding a catholic church to marry us because we are not from the area. Has anyone had their ceremony at St Lucys? I was wondering if they will allow us to prepare at our local church and if the cost is as much as the catholic churches in Newport? Any information on catholic churches outside of Newport is truely appreciated!

I don't know too much about Catholic church prices, but you can also try St. Anthonys & St. Barnabas (both in Portsmouth).  They may be lower then Newport since they are in Portsmouth.

    Hi

I just got married at St Lucy's this past August and Fr John was fabulous! St Lucy's wasn't my first choice despite the fact my parents were married there and I received all my sacraments there.  I really wanted to get married at St Joe's but my husband and I do not attend church.  Anyway to make a long story short, Fr John embraced us and didn't give us a hard time at all.  The other churches wouldn't even speak with us.  St. Lucy's is known for welcoming out of towners to their church for their wedding ceremony.  Good luck, you can't go wrong.  Our guest still talk about the amazing job Fr John did on our special day!

I'm getting married at Belle Mer in October, and we are having our ceremony at St. Lucys. I found that St. Lucy's was very friendly, and actually required a lower donation than the other 2 churches (mentioned above) that accept outside parishioners. St. Lucy's also includes the priest, where I know some of the other churches you need to provide your own priest. We ended up choosing St. Lucy's because of availability, so you may want to start calling to ask to check on that.

    Good luck!
