Officiant Question

Sooo, we just found out that unlike Massachusetts, Rhode Island does not allow for temporary officiants. Is the only way around that for the friend who we planned on having marry us get ordained online?

Yes but becareful.  They have very specific rules about that as well.  Make sure you do your research before anyone gets ordained.   I would suggest going with an Officiant and ask them if you mind if your friend does the vows or has a part in the cermony.  Many of them are very open to that.

Anyone in RI who is a judge or is a former judge can perform your ceremony.  How do I know this?  Because my officiant is the former judge who wrote that law.  He's a great guy, very very very accomodating, my mom and my auntie worked for him for many years.  PM me if you'd like his phone number.
