Make-Up and Hair

A dilemma- 

I have had 2 make-up trials and while I liked them both at the salon when I got home I felt almost too orange or pink or something. Could this be that I am just not used to the make-up??? I dont normally wear a ton and I certainly havent since I had my lil girl a few months ago but could it just be me being picky.

At one of the make-up trials I also had my hair done and I LOVED my hair (and I thought I loved the make-up) so I put a deposit down and booked them but now I am kinda in freak out mode. 

I am totally paranoid I am going to look too overdone. and the FI is no help so hes out..lol Any advice is welcome. Maybe I am just freaking for no reason...

can you give the feedback of what you didn't like so much to whoever is doing your makeup? I really loved my makeup but there were a few things that i would have done differently. i shared the feedback with her and she made note for the day of. 

as long as the quality was there i think you'll be okay but be sure to share how you're feeling.  just remember to speak up if something is not right. you dont want to not say anything and then look back and not like the way you looked. 

if you're feeling really unsure i would book another trial. this way you can play around with the changes and see what the outcome is. maybe they'd do it at a discount since you already booked? worth asking.

You should love it.  If you don't then you wont on the day.  Just say that when you got home you really weren't happy with  _________ and while you would still likt your hair done you are debating the make-up.

Everytime I had a special ocassion event, I went to a professional make up artist to get a feel for them. The only two I was pleased with were Robin McAloon and Sara Faella. Everyone else made me look like a china doll that was too overdone. I used very specific language and brought in pictures of brides that had more natural wedding day beauty but only two were ever able to acheive the look I wanted and I still asked them to tweak things like less heavy eye shadow or a bit less blush. I choose Sara because her rates were reasonable and she specializes in air brush make up which was important to me because traditional and even mineral make up does not have lasting power on my oily skin. I wanted something that required little touch ups because my wedding is from 10 am - midnight. Sara did everything to enhance my natural beauty without making me look like someone else. And my FI took great notice so I knew she did a steller job.

Definately communicate exactly what you told us here. Most make-up artists would want to know what you think and have a chance to fix it than lose out on your business or worse yet get a bad review.  I don't think anyone would be offended if you said something like "I really loved it in the salon but I don't know if the lighting was different but when I got home I was too pink... ect... you guys are great I just want to make sure it looks good in all kinds of light"
If you don't like their answer or they're too pushy then cut your losses and move on, but most likely they'll be positive and help you get the look you want.
