Florals by Alisa?

Has anyone used them?

We got two quotes on your wedding flowers and Florals by Alisa was leeps and bounds better.  They have been incrediblely responsive.

Just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience?

Re: Florals by Alisa?

  • Lots of raves on the boards about them.  I would look at weddingwire.com for vendor reviews as well.  I'm sure other girls will chime in, our reception is not in RI but if it had been I would have met with them.

  • im not using them but as PP said, ppl love them on here. do a search for them on here and you will see the rave reviews - good luck!
  • Thank you!  I have found amazing reviews.

I guess my hesitation is that they came in so drastically lower then the other quotes I received I am just wondering if there is a catch.....  Obviously that not necessarily a bad thing.

I definately plan on avarranging a face to face, just hesitant as we havent run into a situation like this yet!
  • yeah its always good when they come in low, but you are like whats the catch? :) its always good to meet face to face with ppl - the only ones I didnt really meet with face to face was the car service ppl....just not as interested i guess. what other florists did you look into? where is your reception?
  • The main reason that they come in lower is that their overhead is lower because they don't have a store front and order what they need for each wedding.  If reviews are positive and you met them and clicked, I would have no hesitation.  If you are nervous I would ask them point blank to further explain why their quote is lower, ie are they offering different flowers or fullness than the other florists.
  • I have booked Florals by Alisa and couldn't be happier.  they are so responsive, attentive, and beyond accommodating.  my wedding is in 11 days so I can definitely keep you posted on the final product!!!!! ;)
  • MEMtoMEL - Congratulations!  What an exciting next couple of days this is going to be!  I would love if you could keep me posted on how everything goes! And I totally agree, all of my interactions with them thus far have been quick and complete! Congrats again on becoming a MRS:)

URIsweetheats - we got pricing from Esther Scott - Customized Flowers.  She actually came highly reccomended to us. But her pricing came in very high, I actually spoke to her yesterday and she took $600 off the top... almost no questions asked.  Although the pricing is right where we wanted it to be no.  The extreme mark up doesnt sit well with me.  I also got some pricies from Blooming Blossoms.
We are getting married at the Regatta Place - how about you?
  • we are at Atlantic Beach Club - 9/14/12. it's coming up fast!!! we are using a florist in Jamestown - right over the bridge from Newport - place is called the Secret Garden. nice guy that owns it. very helpful with the pricing and we liked his work in the books he showed us. regatta is beautiful!! we looked there too - but just couldn't swing the tent idea - FI was strongly against any kind of tent. when is your date?! :)
  • We loved the Atlantic Beach Club, but after seeing the tent I fell in love.
    We are 7.27.2012.
I will def keep the Secret garden in mind.  I just confirmed an appointment with Alisa, so hopefully that goes well.
Time flys, i can believe we are under 6 months!
  • MM- I also met with Florals by Alisa but they just contacted me that they are booked for my date.

As a PP said the reason they are lower is becuse they have no overhead. They go to the boston flower market to buy their flowers (which are basically a huge warehouse of flower growers that bring things in daily and charge a fair price). They also offer a lot of "alternatives" for example I loved the look of peonies but she suggested we do DAvid Austin Garden roses instead for half the price.

As far as it stood before they told me they booked my date with another bride i was still considering them,
My only hesitation was the fact that they worked from their home. They didn't have a shop that I could go at to see a mock up of my centerpiece and it felt a bit less professional to me. I am a stickler for that, and I know they don't have a need for a space, but I wish that they had some type of office I could meet with them at instead of their kitchen table.

I have seen photos of their work and it is incredibly well done.
