Atlantic Beach Club-Newport & Color Combinations

Hi Everyone
I am recently engaged and my fiance and I are just beginning to search for reception venues in the Newport area. We are looking for feedback on the Atlantic Beach Club as a reception venue (we are considering a winter wedding there-Dec 2011 or if that doesnt work we would be looking May 2012).

Also I am unsure if my colors would be good for a winter wedding. I have always wanted yellow as a wedding color and my fiances favorite color is navy blue, looking for ideas on how we can use those colors for a winter wedding.

Congrats on your recent engagement!
You will find a few girls on here that used ABC as their venue. It has a great view and a nice ballroom/ I have been there for many non-wedding events in the ballroom and the food was always good and the service was great.

As for yellow and navy. What about using mustard and navy for winter?
If not, I saw go ahead and use the colors. Navy I think is really transitional for any season- perhaps if its a winter wedding use navy yellow and silver or something like that...but whatever colors you love- use em. Your florist will help you find yellow flowers that are in season for winter and will be able to make your centerpieces match the season whatever colors you chose.

Congrats! ABC is an amazing venue as well as affordable too! I absolutely love the food there so I know guests will not be disappointed. As for your color scheme, if you can use a gold color it would work with the winter theme and the blue color. If not, I like the mustard color too. I'd also use silver as a accent color since it works with both yellow and blue.

I'm getting married at the ABC in April and I absoutley love our choice. We searched high and low for the best place and price and once we found the ABC we knew that we had to book it right away. Between the food, location and price its the best for us. Plus they own two hotels across the street that you can get a discount for your out of town guest's!

My sugesstion on your color choices. If you like Yellow and Navy I think they would be be suited in May rather than December.
But like they say everywhere its YOU DAY! You do whatevey you want and don't let anyone tell you you can't.

I was in a wedding whose reception was at ABC years ago and they really do a great job. It's very convenient for the hotels right across the street! I live locally and eat there all the time, too :-)
As an aside regarding your colors - if you haven't looked at Hotel Viking you may want to. It's a bit pricier, but their hall colors are blue and gold, so that might fold in nicely with your color choice! Just a suggestion.

Hi, my fiance and I are getting married there August 6. Our colors are navy blue and champange; and we will be using daisies which would be a great idea if you want to incorporate the yellow.
