    Married?: Not yet!
    Wedding Date: September 18, 2010
    Age/FI's age: 25/25. He'll be 26 this month...8 weeks after him I'll be 26
Size of bridal party:6 & 6 plus fg and rb
Colors: watermelon (pink), sunflower (yellow) and white
Theme, if any:no real theme...a little of a wine theme going on. and then beach i guess since we are in newport. But really its just the colors are the theme. and i guess FUN!
Favorite vendor:Probably our photographer, LeFebvre Photo. Danielle has been amazing to work with really sweet. And I think we will be very happy with her photos we loved our e-pics. And I'm doing b-pics this month with her!
Biggest splurge: Probably upgrading the chairs? I mean I guess the whole wedding is a splurge
Biggest savings:Either invites or DJ. Our DJ is a lot cheaper than I would have assumed. And our invites were less than $2/piece. Which when I went to an actual store the lowest they quoted me was $3.75/piece. And I like the ones we got much better!
Best advice: Don't feel guilted into inviting people. Also don't let others opinions get in your way. At the end of the day you can't please everyone. So as long as you are happy with your choices...nothing else matters. As long as your guests arent miserable.
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding. hm. I really don't know I'm really happy with everything thus far. I mean even if I could have spent millions on this wedding I think I would have done everything about the same. I mean I'd upgrade linens...probably hire someone to do decorations and things like that. But I'm having fun DIYing.

    Married?: Not yet
Wedding Date: 10/10/10 ( I originally did not want to do this date, but our venue gave a discount for having a Sunday wedding instead of Saturday)
    Age/FI's age: 32/30
Size of bridal party: 6 good looking men, 8 gorgeous ladies, flower girl and a ring bearer (I've got a huge family)
Colors: Chocolate brown, gold and Ivory
Theme, if any: There's really no theme going on, I guess the theme would be the colors of the wedding.
Favorite vendor: So far I have loved everything about my florist, Golden Gate and photographer, Lisa Hawkins...she is awesome.
    Biggest splurge: Venue and honeymoon
Biggest savings: My Invitations and save the dates...Costco Baby! Who would have ever known?! They came out fabulous.
Best advice: Don't invite people you do not want at your wedding. Your wedding shouldn't consist of people that you haven't seen or spoken to in years. Put you foot down and don't budge when your family or future in laws want to invite the whole state of Washington and Massachusetts or family and family friends you haven't spoken to and have no intentions of speaking or seeing them in the future. You can't make everyone happy, but do make sure to realize that this wedding is not only about you and your future husband, but it's also about your families too. So, try your best to reason with the ridiculous wants of your family before becoming bridzilla Smile .
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding:
gotten married on the beach somewhere in Bora Bora and flown out my closest family and friends to wittiness.

Best advice: Get married on a cruise ship.  Wish I had listened to my FI and dad, would have been so much cheaper and less stressful.

Wedding Date:  June 18, 2011 (almost a year!)
    Age/FI's age: 31/31
Size of bridal party: 3 ladies and 2 dudes
    Colors: Green, Blue, Purple
    Theme, if any: Nature
Favorite vendor: I need to get going on the vendor thing
Biggest splurge: Photo booth, its a must have
Biggest savings: I don't think I'll be saving anything during the wedding process!
Best advice: Do what makes you happy, throw the rules out the window!
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding:
Well since money is no object, I guess I'll throw a huge tented wedding on the lawn of my mansion and invite everyone to stay for the whole week, so it would be like a long relaxed vacation and we could hang out and talk with our guests for days and we'd all have the time of our life, and then we'd end the week with our big fabulous wedding celebration and everyone would go home glowing.  Now back on this planet...more food and drinks, and tons of decor (flowers, linens, lighting...).

    Married?: Yes!

    Wedding Date: 10.17.09

    Age/FI's age: I'm 29, DH is 30
    Size of bridal party:  I had 7 BM, 1 MOH FI had 8 GM & 2 BM - 1 FG, 1 RB
Colors: Chocolate brown, ivory & red.
Theme, if any:  No theme for us!
Favorite vendor:  This is a tough one!  I think I have 2!  My fave vendor to work with was Anne & Glen at All 4 You - they were two of the nicest people I have ever met & they kept our dance floor packed all night!  I also love Mike Picard - he was amazing all night & I am in LOVE with our finished video!
Biggest splurge:  Open bar!  Our guests love to drink & we ended up with a $7K bar tab at the end of the night!  But I have to admit - it was worth it!
Biggest savings:  Invites!  We used Elegant Occassions on Etsy for all things paper & she did an amazing job at a super cheap price!
Best advice:  It sounds cliche, but just enjoy the day!  Don't let the little things get in your way - remember what the day is really about - you & your husband!  Spend every second together.  My DH & I did not leave each other sides (except for a few songs!) the entire night and I'm really happy we did that.  The night really does fly by & it was nice to spend the entire time together with our family & friends.
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding:  I honestly would not change a thing about our day with or without more money.  It was everything I imagined & in the end I married my best friend.

Married?:  Yes, we had a small JOP ceremony but we are having the big wedding next summer
    Wedding Date: August 19, 2011
Age/FI's age: We are both 22 and we will be 23 very soon, our birthdays are 9 days apart
Size of bridal party: 5 BM's, 5 GM
Colors: Navy and chartreuse with fushia accents for reception
Theme, if any: A little nautical but nothing over the top.
Favorite vendor: I am going to say my venue.  Working with the event planner has been wonderful!
    Biggest splurge: The venue
Biggest savings: My photographer, she is a family friend just starting her business and I am sure by next summer she will be charging a lot more but I am locked in at a next to nothing price
Best advice: Stay organized, I am planning long distance and keeping everything in a binder has helped.  Also do what makes you and your FI happy.
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding:  If money was no object I would have had my wedding at Castle Hill and flown all of H's family out and paid for everyone's travel.  I don't know if anyone saw the Platinum Weddings episode at the OceanCliff but they chartered a plane to bring all of their family out there.  But now that I have fallen in love with my venue, I think I would keep the wedding there and pick more expenive packages.  I also would go get my dream dress by Jim Hjelm that is way out of my price range.

You have to be firm at times to get what you want. If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding:Photobooth? Add some desert stations? Married?: Not yet

    Wedding Date: 5/29/11

    Age/FI's age: 25 + 26

Size of bridal party: 7 BM, 6 GM

Colors: Turquoise/peach/coral/melon/creams/whites...but it could change at any given moment ;-)

Theme, if any: Why is this asked? Isn't the theme really "love and marriage"? I don't get why people obsess over the word "theme".

Favorite vendor: All of them...it's nice making friends through this process!

    Biggest splurge: Photography for sure.

    Biggest savings: hmm...nothing yet.

Best advice: it's your day - don't let anyone spoil your vision of your day. Mothers had their wedding day...your sisters, cousins and friends will have theirs someday too. Focus on what you and your FI really want your day to be like...no one else.

If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding:
Tough...I don't believe in overspending on one day. Not sure what regrets, if any, I'll have after it's all over. We have realized that hiring a professional lighting company is out of the question, so I guess off the bat, that's one thing I'd have if I won the lottery tomorrow.

Happily Married!! 5.29.11 was THE best day of our lives!

Hey, Shanna, 18 days!! You're one of the few people I "know" still on this board. Enjoy the next few weeks!

    Married?: Four months from Thursday!
    Wedding Date: 10-10-10
    Age/FI's age: 36 and 30
Size of bridal party: Just his niece as ringbearer
Colors: Navy and copper with crimson accents
Theme, if any: It's sort of a laid-back, rustic vibe but no real theme
Favorite vendor: Tough choice. Toss-up between caterer, B&M Clambake Co., and photographer, Melissa Robotti
    Biggest splurge: Hiring a DOC
Biggest savings: Hiring a DOC; she saved me more than $1,000 on tent/rentals by suggesting a vendor I hadn't tried. Paid for herself and then some.
Best advice: If family members offer to contribute money, be sure to have the money in hand before you "count" it in your budget. One significant source we had counted on fell through and left a big gap for us to fill with about six months to go. Now we're paying about 95 percent ourselves, which is more than fine, but has added some stress.
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding: Hmm, tricky. Probably photobooth, videographer, ceremony musicians (still might do this last one if we can squeeze it in.)

    Married?: In 67 days!
    Wedding Date: 8/14/10
    Age/FI's age:29/32
Size of bridal party: 1 MOH, 1BM, 2 'maids and 2 'men
Colors: British racing green, cornflower blue, and silver
Theme, if any: if it's a "theme", it'd be shells- they're on our stationary
Favorite vendor: So far the Squantum and my florist, because I haven't met my other vendors in person yet (eek)
Biggest splurge: The venue, which was my mom's doing.  My splurge is photography
Biggest savings: we found exceptionally affordable DJ and videographer vendors, which really helped out in the long run
Best advice: if you sweat the small stuff, you'll sweat a lot, and sweat isn't becoming of a bride.
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding: Honestly, planning from long distance and with my mother being ill hasn't been a rosy experience.  I would have happily taken the money and run...to Positano in Italy and eloped there with my close fmaily and friends :)

Colors: BROWN, taupe, ivory, gold and just a tiny bit of the blushest, palest pink.
Theme, if any: Traditional, elegant, FAMILY

    Married:  Yes!
    Wedding Date:  October 10, 2009
    Age/FI's Age: we're both in our 30s
Size of bridal party: 3 BMs, 4 GM, 1 FG
Colors: Charcoal/pewter grey with pale peachy pink
    Theme:  Nah.
Fav Vendor:  Florals by Alisa blew me away with the flowers.
Splurge:  In retrospect, our paper products were more than we should have spent.  Invites were very importsnt to me.  I just wish I had that money now.  :-)
Savings:  We waited until a few weeks before the wedding to hire a limo (originally we weren't going to use one).  We got a great price.
Advice:  I never thought I'd say this, but it's just one day.  I wish I didn't do half the details I spent time on.  I bought a shrug to go with my dress.  Never wore it.  I packed a cute "emergency" kit.  Never used it.  I also didn't make up a must take photo list and I wish I had.

And Sam C!  $35 dollars each for hair.Best advice: relax and have fun.  Don't sweat every detail! If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding:an open bar, a trolley for the guests, videographer, gelato station, lounge furniture... Married?: Almost!
    Wedding Date: July 4, 2010
    Age/FI's age: 29/30
Size of bridal party: 1 MOH and 1 Best Man
Colors: Fuschia, Black, White and silver accents
    Theme, if any: None
Favorite vendor: I haven't had too much interaction with my vendors, other than my venue, since booking them so I would have to say Belle Mer and my florist Toni Chandler
    Biggest splurge: Invitations
Biggest savings: Not much but I guess we did save some $$ on our band since we are getting married on a Sunday.  Our cake from Konditor Meister was also pretty reasonable and came in much less than we were expecting to spend on a cake
Best advice: Don't get so wrapped up in the little details and enjoy your engagement and wedding day.  I am going to try my best to stop and look around and really enjoy the special time with my FI and our family and friends.
If money was no object I would've done _____ for my wedding: We have done everything that we want for our wedding.  Thankfully we have a fairly large budget for the number of people attending our wedding so we have been able to do what we want.  If money were no object though, I would have paid for all of our family and friends to come to Newport and stay for the weekend.  It is so expensive and I know that some people cannot attend because of that.
