Bridesmaid Gifts!

Hi Everyone!

I am having my wedding 11.11.11 and i'm not sure what to do for the bridesmaid gifts.  i have 4 bridesmaid (inc. maid of honor who is my sister).  I have made them all canvas monogrammed bags with stars on them (our theme is wish upon a star) and i wasn't sure what to put in the bags!  Originally i was thinking giftcards but then i was looking at jewelry but i don't want it to be too expensive!  Any ideas or what you have used would be helpful so i can gather ideas.

Thanks

Some ideas are things they can use on the day such as flip flops, nail file, lotion (we did Bath and Body Works Hawaii coconut since we were going to Hawaii for honeymoon), tissues with initial (dollar section at Michael's), etc.

I gave my Maid of Honor and BM's (2) an engraved small silver jewelry box with initials from the Pottery Barn with a J H Brekell (spelling ?) necklace call circle of friends...it was a hit.

I gave my maids (5) vera bradley cosmetic bags in our wedding color.  I filled them with scented soap, a nail file, lip gloss, tissue, q-tips, and snacks.  Jelly beans, pretzels, etc are a cheap and fun way to take up space in the bag.

Most of my girls were from out of state, so I got them earring and pendant sets from Narragansett Sea Glass ($16 for the set but you have to buy a chain).  They were a big hit and I loved giving them something from a local vendor made with local materials.    http://www.narragansettseaglass.com/products.html

It probably wasn't necessary to give them two presents, but my girls really went above and beyond and did so much for me.  I have the best friends in the world.

I got them initial bracelets & zodiac sign bracelets from Alex & Ani.  I did the same thing with the canvas bags.... I'm also putting jewelry, flip flops, and shawls for the day of the wedding in the bags!

I bought my girls a necklace and earrings for the wedding and custom hand made clutches in our wedding colors with their names embroidered inside. Etsy is wonderful! If you're looking for nice but inexpensive jewelry, I used the seller "Element4You". She's great to work with, does custom work, too. I also got them each a Vera Bradley jewelry carrier.

I gave both of my bridesmaid personalized cosmetic bags with a $25 gift card to Sephora plus a mini lotion, lip balm, and mints. I also wanted to give each a gift that was uniquely about them so I gave my MOH a set of custom Parisian note cards because she loves all things French and tea plus a glass tumbler from Teavana because she is an avid tea connoisseur. We love to to drink tea together especially when we were kids so I gave the gifts to her during afternoon tea and dessert. As for my other bridesmaid, I bought her french macaroons and a pie in jar with a muslin slip that says Love is Sweet. I gave something similar to my sister. They are both serious sweet tooths just like me. I found all of the personalize gifts on Etsy. Sephora minis and Teavana also made great gifts too. As for cards, I raided Borders for their sale cards from Papayrus.

I definitely recommend trying to give something small but different to each girl if it is in your budget for it. A hand written note is also a great way to express your gratitude if you intend to give the same gifts to each girl. I know with many bridesmaid gift giving can get pretty expensive but remember it is the thought that counts!
