Another round of dress shopping Saturday!

So I have been trying on different styles big and pouffy(which I did for my mom), plain and very simple and nothing has really hit me. I went to the convention bridal show a couple of weeks ago and fell in love (don't know how it would look on me) with a gorgeous dress. It is like a fit and flare, which is def. what I am going for and very beaded from head to toe. I am trying it on Saturday and just cannot wait!!!. I could go sooner, but my mom wants to be with me. I think I have gone to about 6 or 7 bridal stores and after awhile it gets pretty frustrating. I guess I just want to start with the gown to soughta set the tone for maids etc.. Does that make sense?

  • I went to about 5 dress shops and tried on almost 50 dresses, I just didn't know what I wanted as well.  But I did find the perfect dress and when I put it on, I just knew.  I thought I wanted big and poofy, or a really fitted dress, but I ended up with a lace, body hugging dress that I just absolutely love.  So definately try on every type of style, because you never know what will look striking on you.  GL trying on the dress!!!  I totally agree that the dress sets the tone for the whole wedding.

  • Thanks you are so right. I am going to Wishig Well on Saturday and try the one I love. I think since I haven't been there yet, I should also look and try on other fit and flares with different beadwork etc. Also. I don't know yet about white or the candlelight color. My reception is probably going ito the evening so off white may be better.

I got my dress from Wishing Well and LOVED it!!  It's a Casablanca with Swarovski crystals all over it and fell in love with in when I put it on.  I haven't posted yet about my horrible experience with Wishing Well because I don't want to say anything I'll regret later, but if you are a tall girl, MAKE SURE THEY MEASURE YOU!  My dress came in too short and I spent a few days in full blown terror thinking I wouldn't have a dress for the wedding, but we are trying to work something out, so I still have hope.

  • good luck.
I went to about 6-7 bridal shops and probably tried on about 10 at each place.
Always, the last dress they brought it was in "line' with what i was looking for. It was hard because they kept trying to put me into dresses they 'thought" would look nice on me.

I hope you find what you are looking for! Once you find a silhoutette you love, it will be easier.

    Have you tried Helene's?

  • Yes, I have tried Helenes but didn't find anything that made me feel like "this is the one." I am sure everything will work out for you Lomliboat. The girl I spoke with at the bridal show was Pam and I loved talking with her. I think she is one of the owners, but was very down to earth and made me feel comfortable. I will let you know how it goes on Saturday.
