sorry--the other post is getting lost on the second page and I didn't see it
Did you have your ceremony on the 2nd floor as well? I'm trying to figure out what makes a dramatic backdrop.
We didn't get married at the Biltmore. We got married at the church I grew up in about a half hour away.
-Also, where did you take photos with your wedding party & husband in the hotel/nearby?
Photos were the #1 important thing to us, so we blocked off a good chunk of time to take them. Since we weren't getting married at the Biltmore, we knew alot of people would opt to not come to the church. We got married at 2, it lasted a half hour -40 minutes and cocktail hour started at 5 at the Biltmore. We took family photos immediately after the ceremony at the church, then we hopped in the limo with the Bridal Party and hit up downtown Providence (westminister and weybosset st and then we went to the State House lawn and Rennaisance Hotel and Temple Restaurant which is in the bottom of the hotel, then a few on the stair way of the Biltmore. We LOVED our pictures. We used Melissa Robotti and she was amazing.
www.melissarobotti.comif you go on her home page, under featured weddings- we're Holly and Bill. There's a few pics in there, if you'd like anything specific--ballroom etc, just let me know--i had a hard time getting a feel for what it would look like and couldn't find alot of pictures.
-Did you provide a bathroom basket?
Yes. The women's room wasn't used too much, the men's was basically gone- everyone took everything which surprised me!
-What time did your wedding begin/end and when did you get there?
we got married at 2, cocktail hour started at 5, we dropped off the bridal party in time for it and took pictures with just us and we made it to the last 15 minutes of cocktail hour. We opted not to go in, and we went to the floor above L'Apogee--there's a balcony and we looked down over cocktail hour and Scott brought drinks and h'ors d'ouerves to us upstairs .
-Did you have any custom cocktails?
we didn't. Scott will probably talk to you about the bar. Open bar was insane at the Biltmore. His advice was to do a set amount for the bar, what we chose lasted until about 9:30 or so. We didn't do custom cocktails, because we didn't think we'd be at cocktail hour and our drink tastes are complete opposite. At cocktail hour we had a table with the cardbox, a huge album we made on mypublisher with our e-pics that served as a guestbook. We did custom napkins at the bar and our cardbox was made of cigar boxes and we had some matches with our name near them.
