Question for Hilton Head brides-Knotties H&N and BBatts

H&N-I actually looked at the PR Club House and it's really pretty-I've been in touch with their coordinator and she's been giving me really great information! Could you tell me which resort have you picked for your guests to stay at? I think if I went with Port Royal I would pick either the Westin or Marriot. Thanks! BBatts-I also looked at the Hilton-Could you tell me which day of the week you’re getting married and when your guests are arriving?? Hilton told me they had a $18K minimum for Saturday events-not in my budget…I would do a Sunday; but then my guests would have to take Monday off from work. I figured if we did a Saturday wedding they could arrive Friday and leave Sunday (for those that didn’t want to take too much time off from work). I don’t want to force people to have to take off Monday too. Thanks!

Hello.  We haven't picked the place for our guests to stay yet.  Most of our family and friends are staying in houses that they booked from sunsetrentals.com.  My mom booked a 6 bedroom house for 3 nights and it ended up being $219/family for 3 nights.  Plus there is a pull out couch that someone could stay on.  We have 3 houses booked so far and will probably do more since it's such a great deal.  (Some say 4 day min. but they are willing to work with you these days.) I actually called the Westin on Saturday and you have to guarantee 10 rooms for the stay or they won't give you a discount.  I believe the Marriott is the same way but I haven't called yet.  When I looked at the Westin's prices for March next year it was a little over $200 a night without taxes included.Good luck with your decision!  After looking at everywhere possible when we were down there in April, Port Royal was not only the most economical for us but I also loved the look the most.  I like that they have a beautiful foyer as a back up in case the weather isn't great.  They also have beach access if you want to do the ceremony on the beach instead of the green, which is what we are looking at doing.  Jen is great to work with!

Sorry for the delayed reponse.... We are getting married on Saturday, May 29. They have more than one venue at the Hilton. We are using the Beachside Cabana, which is a deck that can hold up to 60 guests from what I am told. The minimum for Saturday is $6000. Friday or Sunday is $5. We have not actually seen the venue, but we are visiting next week. There are some pics they emailed me in my bio. Otherwise I will post some once we actually get to see the site ourselves. I can also say that Alison, coordinator, did an excellent job answering my endless questions. She is great to work with! Good Luck!
