Any suggestions on where to hold a reception in the north charleston or Summerville area

Hi everyone!I was wondering if anyone has sugesstions on where to hold a reception. I'll be getting married in September of 2010 (that's if I dont change it again :)I was thinking of the Embassy Suites or the new Holiday Inn on International Blvd. I'm looking at maybe a total of 200 guests. I was considering an outside reception, but there is no telling with that being hurricane season. If you have ANY suggestions on reasonably priced and nice places to hold a reception, PLEASE POST!Thanks in advance !!!!!

This is an entire state of SC board....you may want to be more specific as to where you are wanting to find a reception place.

There is a Charleston, SC Board on here, and you should be able to find more suggestions if you post on there.I know a few girls have had their reception at the Old Santee Canal Park which is very budget friendly.www.oldsanteecanalpark.org

I would recommend a golf course- N Charleston- Coosaw Creek; Summerville- Wescott

I have been looking at the Francis Marion Hotel  for my daughter's wedding  Dec 2010. According to the information they sent me, they will wave the venue/ballroom  fee if you spend more than $5000 in food and drink. Their food prices were very reasonable and they can certainly accommodate 200 but it is a popular venue so you may have difficulty getting a date in September.They can set up for the wedding ceremony in the same room prior to the reception but did not quote a price for this. They do not have a dedicated space for a ceremony.

You should try one of the plantations like Magnolia or Middleton.
