Honeymoon ideas

We're thinking about a road trip for our honeymoon...maybe ending up in Myrtle Beach for a few nights.  We're getting married in Maine on a Saturday and figured we'd head out the next morning.  We're looking for advise, suggestions, etc on where to say in the area.  We're not all to fancy...no honeymoon suite needed or a "resort-y" type place...just a clean, comfortable hotel/motel/cottage ideally on the water, but that's not a must have.  We're also paying for the wedding ourselves, so price is a concern too.

I've never been to Myrtle even though I live in SC.  I've always visited Charleston.  Downtown Charleston is beautiful and if you stay on the outskirts, it's not super expensive.  Isle of Palms is pretty, as well as Sullivan's Island.  If you can take a few hours out, try and stop by the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC.  It's so pretty and there's more to see than you think.  From what I've heard, there are a ton of affordable hotels in Myrtle.
