New to the Board - 6/12/2010 Albany bride

Hi all, I've been lurking for a while and finally committing to posting.  My fiance and I are getting married in the Capital District on June 12, 2010.  We've been together for six years, and although we both grew up in the area, we've been living in New York City for the past four years.  So we're planning from long distance, although my mom and sister (MOH) are being really helpful. The ceremony is at the Crossings of Colonie and the reception is at Wolfert's Roost Country Club.  Originally we wanted the ceremony at a church, but we've hit a brick wall in every direction on that, so we're appealing to the diocese to have our wedding at the Crossings, and if that doesn't work out, we're just going with a justice of the peace or similar.I'm finally trying to crack down on the details of planning - right now I only know that I want bright pink and grass green as colors, and daisies as sort of the flower theme.  We have a huge wedding party (16 in all) and about 150 guests expected.  So definitely looking forward to the input of other upstate brides :o)

Welcome and congrats! I used pink and green as my colors (more muted than you are describing, but still the same idea!)

Welcome and congrats!  I just saw photos from a wedding FSIL attended with the color scheme you are describing.  It had such a cute, classic, preppy feel!  :)
