Bride-to-be in Rochester Area

Hello!  I will be getting married sometime next year in the rochester area and was just looking for any venue recommendations.  We'd like to have the ceremony outside and the reception inside at the same location if possible.  So far we have found a couple country clubs but not much else.  We also haven't really found anyplace that allows you to bring in a caterer.  Thanks for any help!

Hello and congratulations!  Friends of ours were just married at the Rochester Science Center and Museum and had a wonderful time.  Their ceremony was outside and the reception inside.  According to RMSC's website they have a catering service but it also doesn't state that you CAN'T use another caterer.  Take a look: http://www.rmsc.org/Events/Weddings/GL!

I also got married at the Rochester Plaza hotel in the tent July 4th this year and couldn't have been happier. They have their own catering but it was some of the best food my husband and I (and our guests!) have ever tasted. You can view some of our non-pro pics here:http://tinyurl.com/qhk89eE-mail me if you have any questions! ryanandlilly at gmail dot com

I was at a wedding at Shadow Lake and thought the outdoor ceremony area looked beautiful! Also, the indoor reception was great-loved the bar and the deck off of the room. I was really impressed since it was my first time there. If I was going to get married in the summer, I would seriously have considered having it there!

What about Esperanza Mansion? My future bro-in-law is getting married there in Oct. and I think you can bring in your own caterer.

Artisan works has those options but it's a bit of a non traditional space.  They will allow you to bring in your own caterer though.

Burgandy Basin has indoor and Outdoor space, though if you're going there, ask how many other events are going on at the same time.  I'm having my reception at the Webster Golf Club with pictures at the Webster Arboretum. Both places offer outdoor ceremonies. HTH!! Good Luck!

Thanks for all the suggestions!  Hopefully we will be able to look into some of them this week!  We have been working opposite schedules lately so it's been difficult to do any kind of planning :/

I just had my ceremony at the Webster Arboretum and the reception at the Webster Golf Club in May so I'd have to say I'm pretty biased... The GC did an amazing job and its RIGHT around the corner from the Arboretum or you can use the GC's garden gazebo for your ceremony at no extra charge....just saw online that they're running a special jan-april 2010 so could be an unbeatable deal!  They take care of EVERYTHING!  linens, grautity, bar, centerpieces, hor d'ouerves and cake are all included in your per person price....The GC doesn't allow you to bring in your own caterer (not sure if that is a deal-breaker for you or not...) but the food was awesome!  People are still telling us how good it was!PIB!

Thanks for the help!  We really like the Webster Country Club from what we have seen about it but our (tenative) wedding date is 4/24/10 and it looks like that's the same as you hconno, oh well.  I guess we'll just keep looking thanks for all the suggestions!  My FI is feeling a little unsure about doing it in 9 months  for financial reasons but we have been together for 7 years so I really don't want a 2 year engagement and next summer is out because there are already 3 weddings in his family... hopefully we'll make some progress this weekend.

just an FYI you can't bring your own catering to the esperanza. If you're looking as far as keuka lake though, you can bring your own catering to herron hill winery a little further down the lake. :)

What about Cresent Beach? It's on the water, ceremony and reception can be there. Very pretty.

We're having our reception at the Holiday Inn (near the Airport)- and I'm sure you can do the ceremony there too.  It's super reasonably priced and it's really nice inside!  You can't bring in a caterer, but it's still cheap! Also, we were looking at Shadow Lake Country Club & Golf Course (but the day we wanted was booked)- again, probably can't bring in a caterer.Another option we almost did was check out the American Legions.  There are several around ROC and some in really nice locations where you can do an outside ceremony and bring in caterers- for super super cheap!
