looking for a reasonably priced venue near Syracuse

Hi Girls!I'm posting to help out a friend! She's planning her Syracuse wedding from Orlando Fl, and needs some help locating a good venue.I've gotten such great theknot recommendations while planning my own wedding that I thought I would help her out and ask you guys. They're looking for something nice, but reasonable. They're going to be paying for most of the wedding themselves. They're looking at about 160 guest. I know there are some beautiful vineyards up that way, or maybe something of the sort. Something on a lake would suit them well. Thanks in advance for your help!!

When is her date? One of the best recommendations I can give is to pick a date during "off-season" (Nov-Apr). Most of the venues in the area have a minimum charge during peak season and many times this is can be up to $10,000. Another way to save is to have a Friday evening or Sunday brunch affair, or trimming the guest list (although hers sounds pretty reasonable!)Now, with that said, we paid for our entire wedding on our own (we had help with centerpieces, favors and my dress) and had it at the Belhurst Castle (I HIGHLY recommend) with a guest list of 125. We were in April so we didn't have to pay the minimum and everything came out wonderful! I don't think anyone would believe how much we actually spent compared to the beauty of the venue and the location. We even got great deals with all of our other vendors because it was off-season.Some other gorgeous places are Ventosa Vineyards, Geneva on the Lake or the Geneva Ramada -all can be very reasonable if you work it right! :)GL :)

I got married at the Fontainebleau Inn in Alpine (about an hour from Syracuse) and it was very reasonable. It sits right on Cayuta Lake (between Ithaca and Watkins Glen). I would be happy to answer more questions if you are interested. http://www.fontainebleauinn.com/

A couple of great selections: Arrowhead Lodge in Oneida Shores State Park is very rustic, and is near a lake. You bring in your own caterer here, and during the off-season, the fee is very cheap... just google Arrowhead Lodge, Onondaga County Parks Department I got married at the Red Mill Inn in Baldwinsville, NY, just outside Syracuse and it was right on the Seneca River - it was beautiful, but it maxes out at about 120 people... thei website is www.theredmillinn.com
