Ladies, I just wanted to share some information for anyone getting ready to book their honeymoon. I booked ours through a travel agency, Sawelle in Vestal, and they convinced me we to purchase the most extensive coverage, "Cancel for any reason" insurance. Well, FH and I recently had to move the date of our honeymoon and it turns out the insurance was virtually useless. It seems that most of the time, agents tend to book nonrefundable airfare, as it is cheaper and clearly, you can not get a refund for these types of tickets. Additionally, there is an extra cost to change the date of the ticket...and it is not cheap! We ended up paying hundreds of dollars extra on an already expensive trip to just move the date when we thought the insurance would help us avoid a situation like this. Anyways, I hope this is helpful and people don't make the same mistake I did by wasting money on travel insurance. Additionally, I would stay away from this particular agency. Not only did they give us inconsistent information, but at times, it seemed I could find more information than the agent. In the end, I found myself wondering if they weren't screwing us out of extra money to make a few more bucks...shady business....
