New York-Upstate

We might have found the location!

We've been considering Silver Bay, but I haven't set an appointment yet. In the meantime, J decided he wanted to consider the boats at Shoreline and Lake George Steamboat Company. I agreed we'd go take a look and we absolutely loved the Adirondac. Since we're looking for a unique location and want to give our out of town guests (my family has never been to Lake George) a really great way to experience what the area has to offer, we're thinking this might just be it. Do you guys think it would be strange or is it a good idea?

Do you know of any close family (or friends) who get motion sickness? As long as all the major players are in the clear then I think it sounds like a GREAT idea!

It's not uncommon for people to have weddings on the boats.  My high school prom was also on one (The Lac - the big one). Sounds like a great way to let your guests enjoy the lake!I've never been on the Adirondac, but we love to take any out of town visitors we have out on the Lac.  They always love the views.Good luck!

I don't think any major players have motion sickness. I sometimes do, but have been on the boats plenty of times and have been okay and generally mine only bothers me in the car, on winding roads. I will definitely inquire with friends and family about it, though, because I do want them all to enjoy themselves. The Lac has been on our list too, but we haven't toured there yet. I have heard the food isn't as good as Shoreline, but have no experience with it.

The food's alright, but nothing amazing.  The reason to pick it would be the size of the boat (if you're having a larger group).  But if you don't need anything that big, there's really no reason.

I think we're leaning towards 50-80 somewhere and more likely towards the low end. He has a small family and mine isn't too big either. We're also inviting mostly just close friends for the friends list; those we've known a long time or have become really good friends in recent years.
