Reception venues in Capital District or CNY

Hi Ladies,I'm looking for a place to have my reception in either the Albany/Saratoga area or the Utica/Rome area.  I'm probably going to have around 175 people.  Does anyone have any recommendations for locations?  Right now I'm leaning towards Turning Stone Casino, but I'm still not sure.  Anyone having or had a wedding there?  If so, what do you think?Any suggestions would be very helpful!!! I need to book someplace soon! Thanks so much!!!

Shenendoah Golf Club @ Turning Stone is very nice. Also, Greystone Castle in Canastota. Canfield Casino, Hall of Springs, and National Museum of Dance in Saratoga are all amazing venues. I have pics of Canfield Casino in my bio if you're interested. HTH..GL!

There's a lot of great places in Saratoga.  What type of "feel" are you going for?  Traditional/formal, more casual?

There are a ton of country clubs and more traditional wedding venues in the Albany/Saratoga area.  We are having our reception at Wolferts Roost Country Club in Albany.  Other places not mentioned are glen sanders mansion, saratoga national golf club, van patten, the new venue on pearl street downtown, it all depends on your style.  I've never been to a wedding at the casino but I'm pretty sure someone else on this board is having theirs at Turning Stone so hopefully they can give you better advice.

Thank you for the suggestions.  I've looked at Franklin Plaza and Canfield Casino online, and they both look amazing, however, they do not have any dates open for next year that work for me.  I actually looked at Wolfert's Roost last weekend, and am considering it.  I was really looking for something with high ceilings and big chandeliers.  Thanks again for the suggestions!

a friend of mine is getting married at the albany country club, it looks beautiful on line. I just got married this summer at the Riverstone Manor in Glenville NY. It was a beautiful venue and the food and service was fabulous!

Sounds like you'd love the Desmond Hotel in Albany.  They have 2 banquet rooms that could accommodate your number.  Right near the airport and guests can stay on-site.  Amanda is really great!
