place cards

Hi ladies, Looking for cheap plain white place cards.  I'll probably write on them but I'm considering printing too.  Any tips? Thanks!

I got mine at Michael's. They have a package of 48 for 4.99, by Gartner Studios. They have a template for printing on them, but you could also write on them if you want. They aren't plain white though - mine have a slim silver border around the edges, but they also come with and ivory border. I believe Michael's also has plan white ones that are equally inexpensive. Especially with the 40% of coupons from the Sunday ads.

I second michaels- this is what we are using: http://www.purelyembellishments.com/product/WS601 they are 4.99 before coupons and we are running them my printer. personally, the cards that come on sheets that are perferated drive me NUTS because you can always see the perferation spots and it looks pretty crappy IMO

We have those perforated ones, they don't look crappy at all! On the contrary, they look pretty classy. I don't think anyone will be able to tell.

I got mine at Hobby Lobby. They are beautiful. They are Ivory with a pearlish trim.

I went to a local print shop and bought paper at $.13/sheet... only needed a few sheets to make 150 placecards.  He then cut them and folded them to size for me so I could handwrite names on them.  I believe the whole thing cost me $14 dollars.
