I'm not sure of anyone in the Syracuse area but to give you a heads up I believe you need to get married in a church in order to have a catholic priest marry you... Good Luck

In order to have a Catholic wedding you have to have it in a church. And that's not going to happen on a Sunday.

It is actually Italian tradition to get married on a Sunday because it is believed that it is the most blessed day. I am getting married next Sunday and found no problem having a Roman Catholic priest perform the ceremony. We are also having a full mass.I think you will find problem trying to get married during Lent on a Sunday, but that's late winter early spring so that will not be a problem for you!!

Contact Fr. Richard..he is an "Old Catholic" priest out of the Albany area but I know he travels. Old Catholic is a spin off of the Catholic church but recognized by the Vatican and follows the same doctrine. Both FI & I were born and raised Catholic and checked it out thoroughly. We met with him last week and really like him. He is marrying us in a catholic ceremony next summer in a park. You will find all his contact info at ..www.FrRichard.com

First, please don't write in all capital letters.  It comes off as you yelling and hurts my eyes.  Second, it is in the docterine that a couple can choose to have their wedding during regular mass, but if your priest does not agree to it there is not much you can do at your church.  You could shop around at other churches, but I'm not sure you will have too much luck if you are not a parishioner.  You have time to look around so don't panic.  But I do have a feeling that you are going to end up having to switch your date.  GL!
