We used Felthousen's in Niskyuna.  Because we were planning from out of town we met with florists a little over a year ahead of time.  It was when we had time.  I do suggest scheduling appointments to meet with them about a year in advance since you have the time and then you can have a good idea of what flowers are in season at the time of your wedding.  If you like someone don't wait for the best time to book them, do it right away or they might book up underneath your nose.  HTH!

We are using Katey @ Price Chopper in Altamont.  We were referred by Marge @ Price Chopper in Clifton Park.  They have amazing prices and she does great work!

I'm using Felthousen's, too.  We met and booked with them this summer, and our wedding is in February.  I probably would have met with them sooner if I wasn't getting married in the winter.  (I haven't had any problems finding available vendors...but I know that's a problem in spring/summer/fall.)

I am actually using an independent florist, her name is Pesha and its Flowers by Pesha.  She just did my friends wedding this past weekend and they came out awesome, they were so beautiful.  She is really reasonable also, because she is independent.  Let me know if you want more info.

I used Diane Steele - Yankee Floral.  Like Paesha she is also independent and works out of her home.  Her prices are great but you need to be specific with her if you are very particular (many pictures in my bio).  I was extremely particular with flowers and she spent a lot of time, and millions of emails going over everything in great detail with me - service you may not get with larger florists.  My wedding was a bit too large for her to handle on her own so she brough Paesha in to help (they are friends).
